My husband and I just bought a 160 point DVC membership while on our honeymoon on the Disney Wonder. Any suggestions from experienced members on things that we should consider or that we should take advantage of that may not be common knowledge.

We don't have kids and expect to be enjoying most of our Disney trips as adults only. We have 3 nieces who are always happy to come along - but for many of our trips it will just be the two of us.

Thoughts on studio vs 1 bedroom accomodations? Best locations etc.?

The studios at BLT are some of the smallest on property. While they do sleep 4, it can be tight. We did it for 2 nights and I don't think I would stay in it again unless I was short of points.

We love the location of BLT and the ease to MK. However, this summer we also stayed at BCV and really loved how easy it was to get to Epcot from there and we enjoyed our split stay between the both.

I can tell you that once you stay in a 1 bedroom, going back to a studio will be very hard. There is just no comparison to having all that space, a washer/dryer, and a jacuzzi tub after a long hot day in the parks.

Congratulations!!!

We found that the studio had plenty of room for us. And I'd been use to the concierge level main building at the GF so the room size was a big difference. But we were more than happy staying in a studio. Hope you enjoy your stays there as much as we have.
Nancy :welcome:

love BLT too - and love the studios.

now they are small - especially for DVC. that say being able to walk to MK makes up for a lot.

also like BCV. now if you want a nice view then would go with BWV. BCV is nice and close - but it was an after though and the views look that way.

BWV and BLT were not. So they definitely have better views than BCV. although walking to Epcot in 5 minutes is high on my list too. It takes me around 15 minutes from BWV (always get standard room so the walk is further). Now walking to studio is around 10 minutes from that area.

AKV also has some lovely views.

OKW has some really nice views if you like a water view, golf or woods.

Congratulations and :welcome: Home!

Like you, we generally travel as an adult couple.
We just returned from a BLT studio, (previously stayed BLT 1BR). The studio worked fine for us. When we're in the room, we tend to either be sleeping, getting ready, or sitting on the balcony.

A tip, popular DVC times do not always match popular park times. For popular DVC times, try to book your home resort at 11 months (can always try to change resorts at 7 month booking window). For example, early-mid December tends to be one of the busiest times for DVC because it's low points, but the Christmas decorations are up.

If you want to book a non-home resort, I suggest calling when MS (member services) opens at 7 months.

Welcome Home Neighbor and Congratulations from Mickey, :mickeyjum Goofy, :goofy: and Me! :cool1:

My advice:
1. Go as often as you can
2. Visit TOWL for drinks and the MK fireworks
3. Northside outer LV and SV rooms have a partial MK views (Not a big secret)

Thanks for all the well wishes and insights. The jacuzzi tub definately sounds like a bonus!! We are big fans of the Wine and Food Festival so October is one of our favorite visit times - I am eager to see how availability at the Epcot Properties plays out.

I also love the idea of doing a split stay. Any suggestions on how to get the most out of split stays - how to best work the transitions.

Generally, there is no availability at 7 months at the Epcot Resorts. Just book your home resort at 11 months and then call at 7 months and Waitlist for whatever you want if it is not initally available.

Check this board, there's a list of room numbers with pictures and such so you can see what the view will be like from a lot of the rooms.

The sky bridge over to the Contemporary Resort is on the 5th floor of BLT. We stayed on the inside of the 'c' (pool / lake view) on the 5th floor, south side of the building and it was awesome - roll out of bed and we were right there to the bridge and the monorail.

Congratulations on your recent purchase, and welcome home neighbor.
