New articulated buses are in use at wdw saw te first ine and very nice

I just watched the video provided by disney david. Thank you!

Those buses are loooooong! How do the drivers turn a corner without taking out the first 3 parked cars???????

Going to WDW on Dec 27th. I want to ride one of these buses! :goodvibes

They take a little extra training here in New York they have gotten in a lot Of accidents with pedestrians. So much they made laws that the driver has to look at their mirrors when they turning because the back of the bus hit the people so that why Disney needs to keep them on limited routes and routes that don't have a lot of cross walks. I am no sure if the drivers have to get another special cdl to drive that length of bus. The nova one looks bigger I also of your driving give it a little more room then you do with other buses.

I wish Disney would release info of how many buses these end up replacing. Since they can hold up to and more 120 guest and the regular buses can hold 60 or more guest. So that basically two buses in one. That the info from tonga site not sure with Disney seating arrangement how many people each bus can hold.

I do hope that they decide to put four wheelchair spots on these buses as that would be double the spots. But not sure what they can do since their more wheel wells and no sure how many people Disney wants standing on these buses.

I try to get more info only saw two so far so if you ride it please of you want to report back. Also please anyone who rides these buses let Disney know so they know whether they should add more of these buses or not or to make changes. But please keep in mind that their might be some things they can't change so to design of the bus.

1) In a previous life (eg, before retirement) I ran a bus company that made articulated buses.
2) They are
. . . large
. . . hold lots of people per driver-hour and gas-per-mile
. . . have uptime-percentages great than regular buses
. . . sometime are very luxurious
3) The ones at WDW are more "plain Jane", but VERY efficient as people movers.
4) Glad to see them in use.

Thanks for the info you think Disney would made them be more luxurious. But I guess they was just happy Disney bought them and didn't want to make them coast that much.

I also wonder once pop makes the changes will they combine aoa and pop for mk to make the bus run more efficiently. During non peak times of the day then at park closing and owning keep the separate.

I going to give you some tips that hopefully will make your trip better. Not sure if your using an ap to get a room rate for your up coming trip. You don't have to answer if you don't want to but I do and always have it with me to show. But they never asked but now they have to click a box that they saw it to make sure when you check in. Also not sure if your will have a car again you don't have to answer if you don't want to. But they are now really checking parking passes if you don't use the resort guest entrance. I don't mind it going to the security cm but now had two cms one at where I am saying at board walk inn and akl where I visited for the x mas decorations scan my room key to check and see if it valid. So I figure I give you a heads up because it is a change that I wasn't ready for and with all the changes happening I figure it better to be prepared for it. And if I dose not happen then your in luck the security cms are very nice and do it quickly but thought at first we did something wrong coming back to the resort. When he had to go in to be booth to get the decide even though we has the pass on turn window and was showing him a room key.

Getting back to the bus saw it again going back to aoa maybe Tom I will go to aoa and check it out to see if I can b et closer. It was funny it was in the right lane and their was another buses that wouldn't pass the bus on the left I guess the drivers know you have to respect the size of that bus.

also if you have magic bands they can be used for photo pass they scan the band and they automatically upload to the web site no need to out in any info and tells you which park they was taken and the time. It also tells you which characters your meeting on the web site so you can keep track better.

I have been in articulated buses before and I am not sure why there are only two wheelchair spots. I would think that given the number of guests who need more help like wheelchairs or ECVs that Disney would make basically the whole front of the bus for mobility devices and seats for those using them, and then use the second bus for seats. That way no "regular seats" get lost when scooters load (thereby reducing complaints from other guests).

Disney has no problem cramming buses full of standing passengers and I would think they could do so around wheelchair spots (so long as there were rails and other things to hold on to).

This is just a random thought in the middle of the night, but i would think the articulated buses would give more options along this line.

Your right they should I wished they would before buying more see these in action a little longer. But again I am not sure if hey could put more tie down spaces in the front most likely they could. Since it double the number of people they should double the tie down spots.

They came out with a new color scheme for the buses instead if gray the body is white with the red reflective paint on the bottom. They look nicer pile that the gray is a little too dark but looks nice on he articulated buses.

There may be rules that could limit the number of wheelchairs per bus regardless of size.

Looking at that video it looks like there would only be enough space for a wheelchair spot on each side since the bus wheels are behind the driver.

There are buses running now that have up to 4 spots for wheelchairs, so only 2 on the double length buses seems silly. Especially given the rise in the need for ECVs with the aging population.

While your right each tie down spot coast money so Disney willing to spend the money to a point. These buses are built for public transportation that has also access a rides to pick up the majority of guest in wheelchairs and ecv. So on average Disney buses sees more guest in ecvs then what these buses was made for. So they might not have though about putting four spot on the bus. Disney also in their regular buses removes most of the seats to make more room for standing guest and they can out four tie down spots. I think just like the regular buses Disney will put more spots in if they can. What Disney needs to do is go to nova and gillig and build a bus from ground up.

What will be best is if they would put another cm on the bus to help load and unload guest and answer questions. With three sets if doors they could add a bit I safety to let the driver know each door clear.

But with these buses holding more people meaning they would have more buses ready to jump in and pick up more guest in ecv if needed. So it could speed up transportation for all guests. So maybe not having four tie downs in a bigger bus is better as it be longer for the driver to tie and untie the guest.

True but busses are often constructed differently. Well one compoines bus can take four wheelchairs or ECV another may be only able to take two. It's also possible they what people mean by two spots being only two sections of seats that flip up, both of which could fit two wheelchairs and or scooters each.
