Hi, I am new here and trying to plan our first family trip to Disney World!! :yay: My husband and I honeymooned in Disney, but we haven't gone as a family! I have many questions about the trip, but my first would be on the travel. We are intending to drive from CT to Orlando. Can anyone give me any advice? Such as, when is the best time to leave? We were thinking either Friday afternoon or evening, or Saturday early morning (3 or 4am). We will be going in March. We haven't done this before, and would like to avoid as much traffic as possible, but also take the quickest and easiest routes!? We definitely plan on stopping on our way down for one night in a hotel, (just not sure where to stop yet). We have heard Rockymount NC is a good place to stop about half way? Any advice from those of you that have driven before would be greatly appreciated!
Travelling will be myself, husband and 3 children!
Thanks for your help!

:welcome: This is probably a good question for our Transportation board so I am going to move it there. :)

Not sure where you are in CT but we avoid 95 at all costs, no matter when. We go 84 to 684, SawMill, Tappan Zee Bridge, Garden State to 95. We have never had any trouble and with the EZ-Pass its really easy. If you don't have an EZ-Pass it is well worth it - I got ours on-line at EZPass through NJ and by putting a cc number in to keep our balance above $25 the transponders (we have 4) were all free. Even on a Saturday I would leave as early as possible.
