Fred, that's great. You gave me goosebumps reading your post. I can't wait until December and we get to the lodge to seek out "the box". Too cool. :D

Majestic -

We leave in 12 hours! Post them directions soon!

MLBooks!! You could be the FIRST to find the box!!! GOOD LUCK!

FC, I tried to find you but all I ever saw was your sign on the table. You were never there. I had to leave. Maybe you can make a special trip one day to try to find our box?

Everyone please read the new thread I posted for the box and make sure that you bring these with you when you go.

I've been enjoying reading all the trips reports. They all have me really excited about going.

Majestic.....very cool idea. I look forward to going on "THE HUNT" in a little over a month.

In all the trip reports I haven't seen anyone comment on the transportation much. How have the buses and boats been running?

Thanks.

I haven't been to WDW in 12 years and now its time for my family to enjoy the magic. After reading about all the great experiences at the WL, I had to book a vacation. My DW, DS(5), DD(3), and I have requested a woods view on the 5th floor with a view of the Otter Pond for Nov. 2 thru Nov. 8 and we can't wait. I have been reading all your posts over the last month or so and figured to join in the fun. I'm new to on-line forums so this will be a great introduction and I'll become a Wilderness Lodge Vet while I'm at it. I am also a suffering METS fan who needs a vacation BADDDDLY.:jester:

welcome aboard, you pick a great place to drop anchor. Any question is sure to be given an answer here.

Many of us have just returned from WL, so check out the TRIP REPORT Thread and get some first hand experiences.

HarborWhaler

Welcome aboard! I can't put it any better than FloridaCat did, so I'll just say DITTO!

Hi WL Vets!
Well, our bellies are FULL! Dinner at Artist Point was delicious. Stinkerbelle had the Roasted Chicken and I had the Salmon, yummy! Dessert was the Berry Cobbler which was fantastic.

Fred, the Memories Box is a great idea!
We have an izone camera, so we left a picture of us in the box.

Only two more days at the Lodge 'til we move over to AKL.
ckj

PS. Go Red Sox!! :p

Hello everyone!!!

We are safely back from our trip and we had a great time and really loved the lodge with only a few exceptions....will try to get to my trip reports asap, trying to get caught up and back in the groove of real life. I hope everyone has been well while we were away!! Thanks for all the helpful info that everyone shared, it really helped make our trip even better!!

Welcome back Corky! HOpe the incidints didnt marr the trip any and that you still had a great time!

Loose Ends.

Someone had inquired about a new Moose at WL. There is a new handsome Moose on your right, just before the guard station. I went back through the thread, but can not seem to find who, sorry.

DGD tracked down what happen to the little Duck while we there in July. Its leg was sprained and it is back at the Lodge with the rest of the flock.

Disappointments: flat skinny pillows, no lobby music CD, did not get to meet more WL VETS and no free paper.

I have been following your comments here over the last week and wanted to say hello. DW and I went to the world 13 years ago but this will be our first family trip! I wish I had found this sight months ago as it would have answered many questions much easier than some of the digging I did.

My DD7 and DD5 are so looking forward to going to The Magnificent Lodge that they can hardly stand it. DD5 has been so excited about WCC since we saw the Travel Channel special on it a couple of months ago that we have PS for the first night there. (They are almost as excited as me).

All planning is in place for 7 full days of discovering the Disney Magic through the eyes of our little Princesses. DW even scored a PS at CRT for our very first morning!!

We have a Woodsview reserved and am not sure if I want an upgrade to the Courtyard view or not. What do you think?? I'm thinking it would be pretty neat for the DD's to see the Castle from their room every morning and night.

I normally would not jump onto one of these boards, but your comments have made the wait bearable this last week so I wanted to say HI!! Also thought Fred could use another male voice on the board.

Thanks to all and I will post a trip report upon return.

Welcome and hope you enjoy your stay at WL. You have a WL VET there in your home town, BluOrchid2. hook up wth her and she can provide a weath of information.

Hi KCDISDAD,

Welcome to disboards! I will be at the WL the same time you will be. I am arriving in Orlando on the night of the 3rd, and we will be staying at a Universal hotel for the first 2 nights and then moving over to the WL on the 5th. We're going to the MNSSHP that night. If you see a little (4 year old) red-headed little boy and his 6 year old sister - you'll know that's my family. I had a woodsview last year and this year we're trying the courtyard view. I loved the woods view - we were on the 4th floor north wing over the otter pond. We saw LOTS of otters. We had room 4034. It had a view of the castle too, but I saw the service area since it was a corner room. I wanted 5032, I think that one would have been a better view - one floor higher and with no service area view. I actually didn't even notice the castle when we got in the room cause it was far away. But the first night I saw it lit up right away. The next day I knew where to look. In 4034 the castle was way over to the right of the balcony so I believe in 5032, it would be in the center of your view. Even if you can't see the castle, the woods' view is nice and peaceful.

I'm trying the courtyard view this time... I hope I like it as much as I liked the woodsview rooms.

Have fun at the CRT breakfast. We are going to it on Oct 9th - it's my DD's birthday (turning 7)!

I am so excited to go!!!

Hey, I've always wondered... how do you get one of the coutdown tickers on your posts? I'm going in a few days and would love to watch it count down the days & minutes.

Welcome!! I envy your countdown timer as we just left there. My wife and I watched Great Hotels last night just to get another fill of the hotel. Uggg....

Anyway...enjoy your stay there and make sure you go to look for my Memories Box!! :)

As for the males...we need all the help we can get here! :)

Fred

Hey, FloridaCat,

That was me, dizneykid, asking about the "moose" at the lodge. When we were there in July for my birthday, we noticed the moose and stopped to take a picture. I guess it will be a topiary? Did it look like that was its permanent spot? Can't wait to go back and see it again. The last time we were there I bought the moose placemats, etc. for my diningroom, I like the moose theme, "anything moose" as I always say. :D

So, glad to hear about that little duck, yeah. They really took care of it.

also, KCDISDAD, welcome, you will have the best time at the lodge. :D

I have already printed out the directions and put them in the file. The girls will love going on a treasure hunt to find "The Box".

FloridaCat:

I travel to Florida all the time on business (Orlando, Venice, Naples, and W. Palm), found a new restaurant a couple of weeks ago in Orlando. It is called Seasons 52 on Sand Lake Rd. and was absolutely fabulous. Very good food amd not too expensive if you don't go crazy w/ the wine list. Are thinking about going while we are there in October.

As far as the countdown clock, I found a link back towards the beginning of this thread that walks you through the process. I haven't been able to figure out how to get the smilies in my message however.

Fred, we need to find a good picture of Anna Kournikova (is there a bad one?) to post.

Almost to single digits!!!!

Day 2 is up on the trip reports board for any that care to read it...enjoy!
