My boys started school on Tuesday and I've been very busy. I just got caught up reading several pages of posts.

I'm so excited for those of you that got the upgrades. Send some PD my way for an upgrade. We have 2 standard rooms booked and the only thing we've requested so far in that they be connecting. We would just love a courtyard view, but we won't be expecting it. I know I'd be happy in any room they put me in.

My SIL and BIL may have to cancel out on us. My SIL is 8 weeks pregnant and is having complications. She has been on bedrest this week. She started hormones yesterday. So, we may be going on our trip without them.

I hoping the weather in Florida cools off just a little and the rain subsides some in the next 28 days.

I have 2 friends who were at WDW mid to late July and they said it was hotter in Texas and didn't have any problems with the heat. We've had 18 100 degree plus days so far since mid July. So they said that the Florida weather was actually more bearable than Texas.


I can't believe we have less than a month to go!!!!!!

You should find it a little cooler and dryer in a month. Only problem is if anything is stiring up in the Tropics.

Storm update, looks like the Tropical storm I posted is starting to fizzle, but we are still expecting heavy rains next week.

Having a bummy weekend so far. Just found out that my MIL decided to invite my SIL and BIL down on our vacation. They are the last two people that I wanted around for our trip. Now there will be like 7 of us instead of 5.

That's what I get for inviting my wife's parents to come down with us.

Either way, still trying to be optomistic. We are getting close. I hope that the magic of the WL will help me forget the bad things.

Thanks for the response to my trip reports to date. I hope you all enjoy.

I am sending upgrade wishes to those of you with standard views, I would think that as it gets to value season soon that it might be easier to get upgrades.
When when we were at the Lodge last week, it did seem pretty full. THe pool was always packed.

One thing I forgot to mention about our stay was that on Sunday Aug 17 the WL lost its power and was running on generators. They had the pool closed and only one elevator in each bank was running. It made a lot of people mad, but luckily they had it fixed around midnight so that by the next day the pool and elevators were back running.
It did answer our family's question of whether the waterfall does really flow from the lobby into the pool-it does not.
During the power outage, the stream was still running from the lobby but stopped at that little bridge just before the pool. So it is a separate water source that flows into the deep end of the pool.

if any of you have pictures of your vacations at the lodge in frames displayed around your home. I was just cleaning and as I look around, no matter where I look, there are pictures of us at WDW, mostly at the WL!!!! I am surrounded by the memories. So am I the only one, or do other people have this too? Every time I look at them, it makes me happy.
I even have other "lodge" items (things that remind of the decor there) around my house. And to think I never would have dreamed of having bears and other outdoorsy type items decorating my house. I just want to capture the feeling of the lodge right here at home!
So is anybody as crazy as I am with wanting to have the feel of the lodge right at home??

During our 10/01 triup I bought some postcards of WL and put them in matted frames.
My husband bought me a WL snow globe and I have numerous pics of our family at the WL around the house. I just love that WL.

FYI-During our trip there last week they were doing some work around the entrance so there was scaffolding and tarps up right around the main entrance-so we didnt get our usualy photo in front of WL.

Well of course you have to go back again so you can get that photo taken!! Are you planning your next trip yet?
Last time we were there, we decided before we even left when we were coming back. And we are looking forward to it every day. It's what keeps me going! I think I'd like to take a picture of the front of lodge (maybe with the family in front of it) and get it enlarged for framing to hang in my den. We did not take a pic of the front of the lodge last time. Thanks for the great idea.
We took lots of pics inside the lodge and in the back. I think I'll go look through my album right now.

Did he get it right in the gift shop there? I don't remember seeing anything like that, but I sure would love to get one. I have the lodge picture frame with the fireplace and the totem pole, which I bought there. I bet the snowglobe is fantastic. I have to get back there and buy one!!!! I can't wait.
