Ya'll are the greatest!!! Thanks so much for the help! Floridacat that was really sweet of you to post the numbers for me. They are aware of our special needs but I will fax a reminder.

Ratpack have a wonderful time!!!

I sent suzannews a PM to contact you. She is a nice person and a CM at WC. Iam sure she or another CM from WC will help you a lot and take your camera with you when you go to eat.

I keep reading about requesting a room away from the lobby. We have two special needs daughters who are both in wheelchairs. We also have a 14 month old. We will be staying at WL for the first time next month for our 17th wedding anniversary and dh's graduation gift from friends. We are so excited but have no clue about which room to request. Should we request a room or just go with whatever they give us?

Also do we need to make reservations ahead of time for Whispering Canyons Cafe? Thanks so much for any help and ideas. Ya'll are so great!

Contact the front desk room assignor about a room to fit your needs. I've never worked the front desk at the Lodge but at other Disney hotels they do have rooms with a roll in shower, larger door frames for the wheelchairs, etc.

As far as WCC, I always suggest making a priority seating. The only time I would not worry about it for dinner is if you are going to eat right at 5pm when we open or after 9pm before closing. I've seen nights where people are quoted an hour wait without a priority and a few nights where we took no walk ins at all. Of course, last night, there was no wait all night long. I'd rather be safe than sorry with kids in tow.

...welcome to our humble thread (and welcome to the DIS!)
BTW ~ I think Bon Jovi rocks, too!

Nice to meet you! It's nice to know somebody who works at our favorite place in the world, AND nice to meet a fellow Bon Jovi fan!

Thanx for the link! Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Thanks, suzannews for responding to the PM. Used the Cornbread Recipe last week and it was good. Not as good as the WC Chefs, but yummy.

Hi all.
We are leaving in something like 45 days. I want to know if I will find the following items at the WL gift shop when we arrive:
Starter pin lanyards (like Toy Story)
autograph books and fat pens
character postcards
I also want EPCOT passports and guest of honor badges, but I hear I will have to go to the parks for these.
I want to sneak a goodie bag or 2 into our room that is a welcome gift from the characters as a surpirse for the kids. I am trying to avoid paying shopping and delivery fees to a business if I can help it.
Thanks!

Another Bon Jovi fan here!!! I didn't get to go see them in Atlanta in Feb :( .

Hoping to become a WL fan in 2004!:Pinkbounc

i got guest of honor badges at the christmas shop in down town disney. you probably could get some of the other stuff there also. don't know how easy transportation would be for you but you might want to check that out.

i remember seeing starter lanyards, autograph books and also fat pens at the gift shop at the wl. the last time we were there they had much more stuff than they had in the past. you might get lucky. they even had cute things for your pets (that was neat since our dog is our child).

good luck. :D

For those of you that love the Berry Cobbler ofArtisr's Point, here you go Enjoy

Berry Cobbler
Artist Point - Wilderness Lodge Resort

3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tbsp. salt
2 1/2 tbsp. baking powder
1 1/8 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 eggs
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups blueberries or other seasonal berries
8 tbsp. brown sugar
8 tbsp. unsalted butter
Whipped cream or ice cream

Combine the flour, salt, baking powder and sugar. Break the butter apart into small pieces and mix it in. Add the eggs and stir until just absorbed. Add the heavy cream and mix just enough to incorporate (batter should be lumpy). Divide the dough into four pieces.

In four 6 inch cake pans lined with parchment paper, place the pieces of dough, spread evenly along bottom of the pans. Spread the blueberries on top of each piece. Sprinkle each with 2 tablespoons brown sugar. Dot each with 1 tablespoon butter.

Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 15 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean and dry. Cobblers should be lightly browned. Cool to room temperature, add fresh berries (if desired) and serve with a dollop of chilled whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Woo Hoo! Thanks Floridacat!

I'll be making it this weekend :p

Thanks! That's great to know. Even if I just have the books and the lanyards, I will be able to fill-in with candy and stuff.
