Yes, but in that situation, one would have to pay dues on the 2008 points. I will wait a bit to see if April UY opens up at AK2 and 2008 points become available.

This is where I was getting confused, hearing that June UY and later were getting the 2008 points........yet you with an April UY were told that there were no 2008 points for your UY.

Makes no sense, because even for June and later, there still is no Kidani for 2008. So why are they getting the points?

It's not fair, is it? It's correct, but it's not fair. It seems like for April, they could have made some arrangement where we got 2008 UY points with no dues until 2009.

The opening date for Kidani is May 1, 2009. The Apr 2008 UY ends on March 31, 2009, a month before Kidani opens. So it makes sense that there are no April 2008 UY points at Kidani if it won't be open during that time. They can't have points in circulation when there are no rooms available that correspond to those points. The June 2008 UY ends on May 31, 2009 so when Kidani opens, the June '08 UY still has one month left since it ends on May 31, 2009.

Hi Everyone!!!!! I'm sooooo excited! I just got in touch with my sales rep to check if there were any points for a small add-on available at jambo house! We were able to get a 25 point add-on for our dec UY so our points should be available in a few days! I wish financially i could afford more!!! Darn being a poor college student! lol But I'm hoping we can use two years of points every other year to stay at AKV! We own 160 points at SSR, but so far I'm not tooo crazzzyyy about that resort!

Yes, I agree it seems unfair to those with UYs earlier than June. But then again, if points were still available at Jambo House and two people added on there today, one with an April UY and one with a June UY, the June UY owner would get 2007 UY points and the April UY owner would not. Both would pay exactly the same price for the add-on and the same pro-rated dues for 2008. I realize these examples aren't exactly the same, but it's another example of how timing can affect things.

But I do hope they do something to make things more equitable. I would think it would be in their own best interest as well because otherwise why would someone shell out money now to purchase Kidani points if they have a Feb, Mar or Apr Use Year? Sure the price could go up if you wait a year, but it's unlikely to go up enough to equal the value of a year's worth of points, unless of course the $8 incentive goes away as well.

ok well I just spoke to my rep who said I could get Oct UY. But if I wanted any of the promo items that it was a min of 100pts....DVCnews says 25-99pts gets the promo stuff sans the $8/pp disc.

So now I'm also confused.

I'd add on next week when we are down there if I can add on 25pts with the 25pt *bonus* @ SSR. But with no incentive to add on right this second, I may wait a while. Depends on what kind of clear answer I can get on the promo.

I was wondering how DVC was going to get folks to purchase points at AKV-Kidani Village when their occupancy date is perhaps almost a year away. Since you can't use your AKV-Kidani points anywhere within DVC until your occupancy date, why would anyone buy into AKV now since they can't use the points?

DVC's answer is to give them a special variation on "developer's points".

I was hoping to go next year April 29 - May 10, so the May 1 opening would be ideal for me. It would be great if Kidani was open and I could book it at the 11 month mark!!!

No they are good for either location. You may or may not be able to book Kidani at the 11 month mark depending on when they announce that they are booking Kidani. (it may be later than the 11 month window). But other folks have said in the past, that current owners would get a window (albeit a smaller one) to book before it was open to all. So I'd suggest, book whatever one is available at 11 months, and then switch over when they say Kidani is available for booking.

AKV is a single DVC resort with just one condominium association. There just happens to be a Kidani Village and a Jambo House. Just like there are various areas within SSR -- Congress Park, The Springs, Grandstand, etc.

It doesn't matter whether you own points at Jambo House or at Kidani Village. You own points at AKV and can book at the 11-mo mark in either area.

I AM OVER THE MOON EXCITED!!! My Point add on at AKV FINALLLLYYY came through today! I am staying for two night (one savannah view, one standard - but hoping to get through on the waitlist for savannah view) in December! So we will be staying 3 nights at our other home resort - SSR, 2 nights at AKV, and 1 night at the GF!!! WOOHOO

For all of you AKV experts...how are the savannah views?
