"New" AK Incentive..SSR update

I just added on 110 AKV points. These are the so-called AK2 points, for Kidani Village points. I will get points starting in UY 2009.

As it turns out, I will NOT get April 2008 UY points because there is no April UY for Kidani Village in year 2008.

I get 110 points at SSR which must be used within 12 months time. And SSR has to be booked at the 7-month point.

This is what we were talking about doing. 110 with April Use Year.
Stinks though hearing that you don't get 2008 UY points.

What's the reason?

Am I misunderstanding though that people with June or later use years are getting 2008 points they cannot use until 2009? Plus the developer points at SSR.
That is what I am not understanding.

If I had a June or August use year and bought 110 points at AKV, I would get 2008 points that I cannot use until 2009---thus giving me 220 points to use in 2009 PLUS the SSR developer points.

I feel like this is as clear as mud........

You are correct.
( The 08 & 09 pts are for your Katadin bldg DVC and it is not built/ready till 2009 )..
Disney sold Jambo units first..because they are ready now to be used. Does that help??

Hi All. I wanted to add on a small amount of AKV points to get the incentives of being able to book 11 months out. What is the minimum point add on? I have a December UY at SSR and would want to add onto that UY if possible. Is there anyway to add on to Jambo HOuse still? Also how much per point if I were to add on?

I'm not too familiar with add-ons as I'm new to the DVC! If I added on 25 points to my SSR contract would I only be able to use those 25 points to book AKV 11 months out or would I be able to use any of my points?

an extra years (2008) pts.

an equal/extra amt. of pts. THIS YEAR to USE @ (only) SSR (because AK isn't ready yet).

Thanks so much for replying so quick. If you can only book your home resort 11 months out, why would anyone do an add on at a separate resort? Or can you even add on at a separate resort?

Many DVCers have multiple resorts as homes and say it works well for them. The key is to have enough pts. for a decent amt of nightly stays for the 11th month advantage. I have all my pts. in 1 basket and only add on to them (same contract and UY).....works for me.....1 contract to manage, 1 call for ressies at either 11 or 7 month., 1 to either bank/borrow..etc.

I was actually just checking out this topic on the *********** forums and someone on there made a great point about the 25 point add on! You could combine three years of points to get a substantial stay which wouldnt be a bad idea if u have a big contract somewhere else too

Yes...true and many DVCers do just that and needs to be looked at carefully depending on "when" you vacation. Check out the point chart for AKV. When do you usually vacation and with how many people? Here's the weekly stay points required for a "studio" in particular seasons:
Adventure=72, Choice=74, Dream=83, Magic=97, Prem=124. If this works for you to wait then combine 3 yrs. of pts.....Go for it!!

pixie08...You have 1 contract AKV its not 2 seperate entities..but I'm not familiar when you can make K ressies..someone else will answer you.

You would be able to book Kidani at 11 months out, no problem.

No it is 104.00 Per point. You have to add on I think at least 100 or 110 to get that discount.

Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the board. I'm thinking about buying into DVC, but I'm a little confused about the new promo. So if I buy a June UY w/160 pts, I will be given 160 pts to use at SSR within a year, then I will get another set of pts to use after May 2009. So will I have a total of 480 pts. We can't go to Disney til June 2009, so if I use my SSR pts then, I would have 320 pts left. So can I bank my 320 pts into 2010, use 160 pts, then bank the other in 2011? Sorry for so many questions, me and my dh are really thinking about buying this, we just want our facts straight. Thanks
