"New" AK Incentive..SSR update

DH talked to our guide tonight and "bit the bullet".. we are offiicially members! Ok, can I breath yet??

Ok, so I have 150 points at BWV, Aug. UY.
I thought if I were to add-on it had to be in the same UY:confused3
So, if i want this offer, can I still just add 110 points(or less), or will it be a new "master contract", does it have to be 150 points.:confused3

Man, this is so confusing.:scared1:

Suppose;
I want to add 110 AKV points.

I pay $10560 (104-8 incentive X 110)
I get a new master contract for April UY(assuming that's all I can get)
I get 110 points to use between today and 1 year from now at SSR or II
In April 08 I get my 110 points at AKV, which I can't use until May 09, so I have to bank those points.
So, in May 09 I will have 110 bank points and 110 /09 points in my AKV account(on top of what I have in my Aug UY at BWV):scared:

Help:scared1:

I understand your confusion! What I confrimed thru some super knowing DISers is that you can have a different UY but it would not be an add-on, it would be a new contract. Some members have multiple UYs but it takes some organiztion. I think that the new UY would be a "new purchase" and you would have to follow the guidelines for new contracts. Please confirm that part with you guide.

Good luck!

In order to purchase a different Use Year, you must purchase a minimum of 160 points.

So if my original UY is Aug., I have no choice but to purchase a new contract with min.160 points to qualify for the new incentive?:confused3
Don't think there's any way DH will go for that one.:sad2:

So, if maintenance fees are not payable until 2009 do you still have to pay the dues for the 2008 points or do you only pay dues for the 2009 points? Is it just a deferral of 2008 dues or a forgiveness of 2008 dues?

There is no DVC resort yet for 2008...so only 2009 MF can be charged and probably pro-rated depending on "when" the building/unit is available in 2009.

No.

If I'm reading you right.

Less than 160 point add-on you're still eligible for the incentive. But will keep the August UY, that's all. You have to.

160 or more. Can be completely new contract. And therefore you can choose another UY is you wish. However, I'm sure you can keep your UY regardless on this one.

They would have to have August UY points available. Are they offering August UY? If they are then it would be an add-on and not a new master.

wildernessDad - were there other UY to choose from or did they assign the April UY? We are Dec UY but would consider adding a new master contract with a different UY. Thanks!

As it turns out, I will NOT get 2008 UY points as there is no April 2008 UY at Kidani Village. I was told this by my guide today.

All, I want to correct something as my guide misspoke yesterday.

I will NOT get 2008 April UY points for AK2 as there is no 2008 April UY at AK2. I will start getting my add on points on April 1 of 2009.

He gave me the option of adding on more Jambo House points and I would have gotten 2008 UY points there, but I went with the AK2 points because I really didn't need 2008 UY points at AKV, I get the $8 off per point, I get 110 SSR points for 2008, and my dues on the AKV points doesn't start until May 1, 2009.

Hi All. I wanted to add on a small amount of AKV points to get the incentives of being able to book 11 months out. What is the minimum point add on? I have a December UY at SSR and would want to add onto that UY if possible. Is there anyway to add on to Jambo HOuse still? Also how much per point if I were to add on?

Thanks!!!

:confused3 I'm perplexed what that has to do with my post. I'm obviously missing something in your post.

Obviously, August UY would have to be available. I have no idea on that. Was she, Petbren, questioning the availablity of an August UY at AKV, did I miss that ? Maybe? I thought that Petbren was thinking that she needed to buy 160 to get the incentive and her original UY. Hence "no". My point was less than 160 has to be the same UY add-on and will get the incentive. 160 or more can be new contract and different UY. Is there something different about AKV? Honestly, I'm perplexed. No sarcasm.

Seems like things got confused with several people "talking" about the same example, no need to be perplexed.

We were originally talking about getting the AKV incentives with a UY different than a current owners UY. If the current incentives were not available for that owner's UY, and they still wanted to buy under the incentives, then they could purchase a new master and follow the guidelines of that purchase. That was it, nothing too complicated. Since the new UY issue had come up in one of my earlier posts, I simply wanted to make certain that the info. was not confused. Certainly no insult was meant to your post in any way. I apologize if you took it that way. Only wanted to be clear to the original conversation.

Gotcha global_mom. Thanks. I wasn't insulted in the least. I just thought your reply meant that there was erroneous information in my post. And I couldn't find it. Hence, perplexed.
