New ADR Policy!

You guys are too great!!!

Thanks for the info. That's is why I love the DIS. I went ahead and made ADR's for our anniversary dinner in February.

Now to get moving on where we want to eat in May.

Again, thanks. :goodvibes

Is anyone else going into overdrive trying to quickly plan a trip and make ADR's. I thought I had until November (my 90 day mark) to make these decisions and now I am trying to spontaneously decide so I can be sure to get what I want. Should I just calm down and plan like I usually do and not worry about all the ADR's getting snagged up for my Feb. trip. I REALLY need to calm down.

I would calm down a bit - remember - the word is going around this community (and a few others like it), but the general public doesn't have a clue. Look at it as you have the advantage knowing ASAP. Do what you can and don't sweat it - except MAYBE for things like CRT - I bet you will do fine!!! Have fun planning!

:wizard:

This will be great fun for those of us who are planners. :cool1: :cool1:

And I have to eat my words as in a post sometime recently I said I didn't think the hours would ever be finalized much further out than now.

Do you think the hours released will be a minimum and additional hours will be added based on crowds?

The phone message on Disney Dining still says 90 days...

Anyone book past the 100 days yet??

I hear ya! I'm in panic mode. I thought I had another two weeks to make up my mind, and now this! :crazy2:

Fine with me!!! I could probably make dining plans for our Dec. 2006 trip if they would let me. Those of us crazy enough to plan that far in advance will definitely be at an advantage!!! Seems like they are encouraging you to plan trips in advance instead of the last minute. I have several friends that could not do this- they couldn't even make the 90 day mark for ADRs b/c they plan so late!!! Maybe this will help us compulsive planners get exactly what we want!!! :goodvibes

I haven't personally, but I've read several posts that people have successfully booked. One post said the CM said no, but that person called back & a different CM booked it.

I'm not happy about this at all.
Yes, I'm an obsessive planner, but part of my obsessive planning is about deciding which days to go to which parks based on TGM's "best days", the EMH schedule, and the show schedules. How can I possibly know which days I want to eat where, when park hours and show/EMH schedules aren't known.
I read the comment about park hours being released 6 months ahead, but my guess is that those hours are going to change so much that they won't even be worth looking at. Not to mention the changes we will see for things like Spectro.

I guess for most dining spots (other than the castle), it won't matter much because most people don't plan their itinerary 6 months in advance. Of course, the huge price increase at Cindy's may make those ressies easier to get as well.

I made ADR's for the end of February. When I called and told her the date, she said "you're in luck, we just implemented our new 180 days out policy this morning".

If you get a CM who says no, just ask them to put in the date, it will come up. :paw:

OP here. The CM I spoke with didn't mention anything about park hours being available 180 days in advance, so thanks for that heads up too! I was so excited to hear the news this morning cause it makes planning so much more fun (hey, why wait to plan until 3 months before the vacation, now we can stretch that process out some more!) but also because I knew exactly what I was going to do right when I got off of the phone - get on the Disboards and tell you all!

I havn't been much of a poster in the time I've been a member here, but have gotten SO MUCH great information here that it felt really good to be able to contribute to such a great place!

That's great!

I already know where/when we are eating each day for our October 2006 trip!

I'm still fine tuning our Christmas week trip (variable number in party depending on the day!), and just don't think I'm ready to plan the February trip yet! Guess I'll add in the places we don't get to in December, and maybe FINALLY we'll get to Fresh.

I made reservations this morning for March 3 and 4. The CM said I was her first customer calling her to use the 180 day booking.

Do you think they will extend the BRP to coincide with this also, because i know at the moment, you can only book up to 4 months ahead with the BRP, which does put you at a disdvantage with the new ADR policy.

I just booked CRT for lunch on Feb 17. I have two ADR's and I've used 16 TS credits. We may be in trouble here!

I was told when I called and made our February ADR's that if you are staying on site you can make the ADR's 190 days in advance, it is 180 for everyone else.

I hate that they do not have a regualr dinner reservation for CRT. The food was not that good but we kept going back because well.....you were eating in the castle. Two table service credits stinck and they are not a DDE location anymore either. Screwed my dining plans up royal, no pun inteded!

Now if they are going to also release park hours 6 months in advance, that's a whole different story. This is great news for me and all my fellow super-planners. Woo hoo!

But remember this is Disney. Those hours will not remain the same as your trip gets closer. This past May, late May for that matter they were still changing the EMH's for our June 7th to 16th trip. Do you really think they will even come close with 6 months over the current practice. If they can't get it right now forget about it.
