Exactly why they would need to be at least 9 of them trying to get them all. I guess they could buy 9 get the duplicates and then trade for the ones they don't have.

I've heard rumors of $50 but not sure if Disney has officially said price yet, and yes 1 pin is correct.

WOWSA....I was way off...I'd never make it on The Price is Right! My guess of $39.99 was a lot more palatable....$60 is crazy even for Disney!

I was thinking probably $49.99 but was hoping for $34.99. $59.99 is a bit nuts BUT you know they will sell out quickly.

I was thinking about that. They set up all of the lock stations throughout the park. That has to cost a pretty penny. If they sell out of the plastic keys, what do they do with the scavenger hunt set up?

They probably have tens of thousands of the keys stored off site. The celebration is over 1+ year.

As multiple people suggested earlier in the thread, if Disneyland actually wanted to encourage people to buy MagicBand for the park, this would be a great way to do it. Have interactive scanning points set up in the park. Make the pick-up spot for completion a store or another place that is staffed with cast members. When you scan in and it shows you have done all of the things, a cast member gives you the prize.

Also, if the pin is hidden in the key, I am pretty sure someone is eventually going to figure out how to break into the compartment, because human nature is what it is.

They have added several MB interactive stations. There are also some tap points (in Fantasyland???) that trigger a mini show.

I am going to buy a MB for my trip just because it sounds fun. I will spend 35 bucks but not 60 bucks for the key and 1 pin and try to get more.
