but, I'm so happy TAKS testing was this week. My dd didn't have homework most days this week and when she did it was quick and painless.

My dd actually has had time to play after school this week.

I didn't realize how tired of the homework routine we were all getting. It's like a mini vacation for us all. I sure don't remember doing homework every day when I was her age.

I hate the amount of homework public schools are giving these days. My oldest has testing in mid0March. I can't wait for the homework break.

DD10 did her TAKS this week and Benchmarks, and DD13 had Benchmarks all week. I am so sick of all these stinkin' standardized tests!!!

But it is good to have a homework slow-down.

I agree. DSs had standardized testing (ERBs) last week and no homework. It was like a mini-vacation. Younger DS in 2nd grade came home last Monday and said "I LOVE standardized testing." I thought he was referring to the actual test, but no, it's because there's no homework.
