Never Received Postcard from CC

I just realized we never got the postcard we mailed to ourselves from Castaway Cay. Does this happen a lot?

It took six weeks for our postcards to arrive from CC. People were really surprized to get them, since we had been back for almost 6 weeks.
They may still come.

I'd say it was just one of the many pieces of mail that gets lost every year.
It is unfortunate, but it does happen.
Yes i would mail myself a postcard if i was interested in getting the postmark from another country. Some people do collect such things.

Well, I guess I just don't see the point. (And no I'm not trying to be nasty) Do you tell yourself that your having a great time and "wish we were still here"? I'm sure you took pictures. I send postcards to friends/family but ..... sorry I just don't get it.

I also send postcards to myself. I guess it's part of some unexplainable excitement to get a post card after the trip is over.

Mine (to me, I might add) came today. It was mailed just 3 weeks ago on June 28, so I was surprised to see it so soon.

As for why we mail cards to ourselves, it was so I could get the Bahamian postmark from "Castaway Cay, Abaco", and have the beautiful DCL stamp.

Who else would treasure those things (or a 3 month old card) like a DISer?

I filled one out on the family beach at CC and addressed it to my DD (who was only 10 feet away from me at the time). Two months later when it arrived at home, well, you just can't imagine the look on her face-she was so thrilled! Cheapest souvenir we got from the trip! It was fun!

It may not appeal to you but it does appeal to others. I don't normally mail myself a postcard but I did from CC.

It was actually my DS8 who sent the postcard to himself. Why? Because he thought it would be cool to get a postcard from CC with the postmark and stamp. Just a silly, fun thing to do.

I also mailed a postcard to the kids from CC. To make it even more fun, I had some of the characters who were on CC sign the card before mailing it.

Oh Julie...how fun is that! I will have to remember to get the characters to sign on our next cruise! DD is now 6 and is even more thrilled to receive mail. I send her a silly card from time to time, just so she gets something for her. I mean, the American Girl and Disney catalogs only comes out so often! Have a great day!

Probably our ONLY complaint of our Disney cruises. We have posted approx 100 cards from Castaway Cay in 6 cruises. At least 10 NEVER arrived. Maybe they have never heard of ENGLAND! HAHA.
