In all our Disney vacations we've never made an ADR before. This time I'm going to do a breakfast at Akershus so the girls can see the princesses since we rarely get to see them while out and about. Does anyone have any tips for me? We've never even eaten there, period, so it really is an entirely new experience.

Is there a "best" day of the week to do breakfast there? Also, we have a large group...I'd like to make the reservations for 9 of us but 2 may not end up coming. Can I go ahead and make the reservation for all 9 anyway?

You should be aware that Akershus takes a credit card to hold the reservation. Only a few Disney restaurants do this. If you don't cancel the reservation and don't show up, they charge a $10 per person no-show fee. If you book for 9 and only 7 show up, from what I've seen reported that will cost you $20. So you need to be prepared to pay that, or make sure you know how many people will be coming before you book it, or try to change the reservation to 7 as soon as you know they won't be coming.

Ordinarily I would suggest booking for 9 because it's easier to subtract people than add them later, but you need to be aware about the no-show fee at this particular restaurant.

Okay thank you for that information! Is there a better place to eat at if we're hoping for mostly just princesses?

Akershus is the best bet to see several of the princesses for a reasonable Disney price. You can the see the princesses at Cinderella's Royal Table, but it is kinda expensive. If you wanted to see just Cinderella you could go for dinner at 1900 Park Fare.

If you still plan on going to Akershus try to get an 8:00 reservation. We did this and were able to get some nice pictures in Epcot without all of the people in the background.

The only multiple-princess meals are Akershus and CRT - and with CRT you have to prepay the meal in full - so if two people decide not to go, you've already paid for them. I don't know if refunds are available when you arrive under those circumstances.
