does anybody have cinderella man in their queue? I have but I've also had a lot of other stuff and it has said very long wait for a while now. wondering what the status of the movie is with others who have it in the queue.

update:

well, finally, after a LONG time, cinderella man is on its way to my house! woo-hooo!!! I have not given up on netflix, because honestly, this is the only movie I have had a problem getting. If it becomes habitual or I see longer times or other throttling, well, then I'll re-think things.

just thought I'd update :)

It's been #2 in my queue since it was released and still showing a long wait.
Not for nothing, but March of the Penguins has been #1 in my queue since its release and I'm still waiting for it.

That's funny, I got Cinderella Man yesterday in the mail. We are planning on watching it Friday. Want me to send it over to you when I'm done? :teeth:

But, we have had 40-year old Virgin on our list since before it was released and we still haven't gotten it yet.

I forgot about march of the pengins! I just added it...it shows a short wait. I still have a handful of other things that have no wait so sure I'll get those first.

mookie...all I ask is that you send it back quickly so maybe I'll have a shot. granted, I'm probably getting paid back by the new release that we sat on for 2 months. ooops. can't remember which one is was now, but I know others were looking for it. that karma...sigh.

You should switch to Blockbuster Online. I have been a member for over 1 year with no problems. I rarely have ever had to wait for movies. Especially new releases. The longest I waited for a movie was one week. But usually there is no wait.

I 'd be mad if I had to wait that long!

Don't worry, we are usually very good about it. In fact, we probably would be watching it tonight if DH weren't out of town on business. But I know what you mean about some of these movies taking forever. I know my 40 year old Virgin is somewhere buried underneath someone else's personal DVD's, and they just haven't sent it back...

We probably have the same distribution center too :rotfl2:
I've got Brothers Grimm and Serenity coming my way if you're waiting on those. ;)

They moved me to Brockton about 6 months ago and I find it takes them longer to recieve my movies now than they used to in Worcester.

Already watched Serenity (made sure I got that one the day it came out :teeth: ) Brother Grimm is on my list, but father down on my list

Well, I live near you, Brockton is my DC also, and I just popped Cinderella Man back in the mail on Monday, so maybe you'll get it soon! I will admit that I got it right when it came out and it took me a while to get around to watching it.

I am terrible with Netflix--I keep movies out forever. On Friday I returned A Very Long Engagement...which I rented in August! It was a good movie though.

Too funny! SSB got a big kick out of this.... :)

PS: It was a very good movie. Natalie T. to star in the new Tom Hanks/Ron Howard dealee opening at Cannes.

I was going to post the same thing. We never have long waits for new releases. Only time we have long waits is for some of the more obscure, older movies that my DH adds to the list. Plus Blockbuster gives you two coupons a month to use in the store, so if there is something you just can't wait to see, you can just get it at the store. The also give lots of other good coupons too, we have gotten a few previously viewed movies for free. I have heard that lots of people have problems getting the new releases from Netflix, but we haven't had a problem with Blockbuster.

That's weird, I just checked my netflix queue and Cinderella Man is shipping today and I am out of Worcester DC so I feel like maybe I'm taking your copy Mtemm!!! I'll try to be quick (although we're boring parents of 3 kids and can't start a movie after 8:30 or we'll fall asleep before it ends!!!!) :rotfl2:

Seriously, we've had netflix for over a year and I have never once waited for a movie...the Worcester DC must be really good. Once I swear the netflix fairy came to my house...I dropped the movie in the mailbox early morning and received a movie that afternoon...Weird...

please pooh's pixie, watch and return! lol. thanks for that. Worcester is our DC too and we have a very quick turnaround....love it. It was a bit longer in Saratoga...had to come from Rochester I think. Still, this is the only movie I've ever had a wait for and I really haven't wanted it until now. We've been watching a tv series so our queue has been chock full of that. Now I have my queue down to Penguins and Cinderella Man so we'll see how long it takes. Usually I never have a wait even for new releases and usually I have nothing but those choices in my queue so don't know if that helps.

Just need to watch what we have and send them back. :)

As for blockbuster, honestly I'm not a huge fan of the store and since I am happy with netflix I think I'll stick to it. If I ever run into consistent issues with netflix I may just change my mind, though. thanks!

eta, pooh's pixie, we have 3 little ones, too, and we usually start movies as soon as they are in bed (7pm) or we can't make it. lol.

I just returned a copy to Netflix. Trust me this was a terrific movie. My dh who loves boxing wasn't interested in seeing it. Finally I put it in for myself and he got absorbed and didn't go to bed. It will be worth the wait!

Actually the Worcester DC kept Finding Neverland from me for 3mos until I got it (#1 in my queue the entire time) so it's not all that great ;)

I got a year membership for Christmas from my DH. I joined right after Christmas. Since then I haven't waited for any of my movies. I've watched 40 Year old Virgin, Wedding Crashers, Must Love Dogs, Emily Rose, Red Eye, The Island, etc...with no wait for any of them. So far I'm very happy with it.

After reading your post, I went and added Cinderella Man to my queue and it says its available "now".

I read on another thread that if you have a quick turnover and rent a lot each month, that they will hold some movies from you. Something to do with them loosing money if you rent so much that it costing you about $2. a movie. It even has a name. "Throttling".

My DH's co-workers gave him this idea for a gift cause they use it and they were discussing what we've seen so far and they were upset when they heard I had already gotten Wedding Crashers and 40 year old virgin cause she puts them on her list even before they are released.

Interesting! :scratchin

I remember reading something like that (throttling) on the disboards when I first started up with netflix and I remember it not making sense then and it doesn't now. To me, it seems like the quicker the turnaround, the more times they can send out each movie to different customers, the happier the customers are, the more customers they get from word of mouth/reputation.

That said, we have been renting a ton the last couple of months because we have been renting a show that's been on for 5 seasons...we've rented all 5 seasons in the last 2 months (that's a lot of dvd's!)

very interesting that cinderella man says available now on your queue. is worcester your dc?

I think our dc is Brockton?? Not 100% sure as I'm new to this but I kind of remember DH telling me that because I couldn't believe how fast they get our returns and how fast we get our movies.

I had the same problem. I ended up e-mailing them asking if they could just keep a slot open till it came in. The next time I returned a movie, they sent me one from the Las Vegas DC.

I have also heard about them giving new members and slow turn around time "preference" I just checked for Cinderella Man- Very Long Wait
