I am starting to get nervous about our trip to Universal Studios and Island of Adventure. We are arriving Aug. 16 for 5 days and staying at Portofino Bay Hotel. We have the 5 for 2 passes.

Anyway, since we were staying onsite I really haven't made a touring plan. I basically know what park we will be going to on which day (2 days USO and 2 days IOA plus one day of favorites and cabana/pool/divein movie). I also plan to go back to the hotel to swim in the afternoon for a couple hours and eat an early dinner at Citywalk with the Clearchannel gift certificates. But I haven't planned beyond that. I was thinking that with FOTL we can just wing it. But now I am getting concerned.

Do you think we will be ok if we just show up in the morning and work our way around the park? Or should we have some other strategy? We have never been to USO/IOA so are a little unfamiliar. Although I did buy the Universal Guidebook and have read up a little.

You will be fine even with the changes to FOTL. If you are planning on getting to the parks early, you won't even need your room keys for most things. The first hour or two things aren't crowded. We just came back from five days and did everything we wanted with much time to spare. You will be able to do things at a leasurely pace and enjoy the hotel pool. Have a great time.

Am sure someone posted earlier saying restrictions end 16th so u will be ok:jester:

Just take your time to putz around the park, just exploring and having fun. You've got FOTL, so you won't have a long wait. Just go leisurey and you'll be fine. :)

Don't overplan - like everyone else has said just relax and have fun. The FOTL, even with the new restrictions won't be a big deal.

Enjoy!! :sunny:

Planning is something you need to do at Disney, At Universal Relax and have a nice expierence. We would not get to the parks until after 10:00 AM each morning except for one. Portofino is great resort. Each morning we would decide what park to go to first and after we were done with that park we would take the five minute walk to the other park ( No 10 Minute walk to busses, than wait for busses, then ride bus, then 10 Minute walk from bus to new park). A quick boat ride back to the hotel for a swim. One night decide at 8:00 PM in the portofino pool decided to go USF was at park gate at 8:30. Try do that from any non monorail resort at Disney. Relax and Have fun, no Pixie Dust and Fairytales required.

Certain rides hotel guests can only ride once before 3:00 PM. These restrictions are to be lifted 8/16.
