Originally posted by Mercy Ok after much research and stressing, I finally decided to stay at CSR and booked my rooms (we have 2). Then I have been reading the "worst resort" thread and there have been some VERY negative comments about CSR and now I'm worried
Well, we are staying at CSR for the first time in about 12days. Here is why we decided to switch to CSR from the Dolphin.
Even though it is a moderate it has alot of the same amenities as a deluxe due to it being a convention resort. We are from a city just north of Boston, MA so the American, SouthWest theming is different for us. We have "visited" CSR when we have been on other trips and yes it is spread out and there is not a lot of shade but we do not view those as bad things.
We are hoping that CSR will become a faviorte of ours as $89 a night plus tax over Memorial Day weekend for a waterview room is a great rate.
I will be posting a detailed review when I get back.
Hi Mercy,
We also think CSR is the BEST moderate Disney resort.
I couldn't get a good Florida resident rate there for Memorial Day weekend so we are staying at The Boardwalk instead.
The Boardwalk is our absolute favorite Disney Resort but I am a little disappointed we won't be at CSR!
I hope and pray all goes well with your Mom and that your family has a truly magical vacation at this fantastic resort!
Keep us posted.
I too had fears, Mercy, but after reading so many positive reviews, plan to stick with my last minute AP rate ressie for Mem weekend. The only question i had was if i needed to keep it waterview- as that was all that was available. I have read many negative reports on fabulous resorts!! how can anyone say anything bad about resorts such as AKL. WL or OKW???? but they do!! having stayed at all of those and more deluxe resorts (and finding them absolutely awesome- especially AKL) i find that many of you that say that many "nitpick" are correct!!! I had a friend that "dogged" YC (which i love) because of the duck "poop" in the pool!.... We all can have experiences that can be less than pleasant, but that can happy anywhere, and i doubt any places will go to such lenghts to make you happy if indeed there is a problem. We had a very bad experience at CBR last holiday season. I think though that is was a "fluke" and not the norm. We ended up having to move to another resort (I have severe asthma and had just been released from hospital and they put up in a molded smoking room).... do I think that is normal for CBR? no. Will i try it again maybe? yes. That being said, I think it is truly whether your cup in life is half full or half empty!! enjoy your trip!! I plan to enjoy mine!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with Kathy C. I am hard pressed to pick a WDW resort I DON'T like... I am so happy to be in Orlando, that when I am there I just smile the whole time. There are things I favor at some resorts more than others, but mostly I just love them all. STUFF HAPPENS... that's a reality of life. But the truth is, if you get to Coronado Springs and you look at that beautiful lake, and the flowers and the fountains, and you soak in the giant hot tub and have a fluffy drink by that pool... How bad could it BE? It's Disney!
