went to DL yesterday. It was a non-EE day, we were in the park at 8:15 (opened at 8), booked it over to Nemo, and the line was already 2 hours! :scared: We said no way, and did a lot of other rides, including Pirates, just walking on. We later went back to Nemo and the line was still 2 hours, so we decided to wait. It didn't start right at the 2 hour mark though, so our wait was more like 1 1/2 hours. It was a long wait, but as you get closer they have umbrellas up for shade, etc. The wait was definitely worth it. This is a great ride!! Disney did well, once again. I just wish the "no flash photography" rule would be enforced more. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. The subs are almost completely dark during the ride and it's really annoying when ONE person keeps taking pictures with their flash on and lighting the entire sub up. And it reflects on all the port holes too! Why can't people just enjoy a ride and leave their camera in the bag?

doesnt understand English?

Pictures = forever a memory :) Just let it go...

Yeah but the sad part is the flash probably won't even work for that photo and just come out as a reflective window in all the photos.

It is silly for them to be using flash for their photos! I got plenty of pics that turned out perfectly without flash! Besides, wouldn't you just capture the flash reflection in the window anyways? Pointless!

I promise when I'm on the sub with my camera I'll leave the speedlight in the bag, and the Gary Fong Lightdiffuser II at the hotel :)

I think the biggest problem is people don't RTFM and have no idea how to turn off their flash.

Yes, I think you're right on this one. Most people don't know how to turn it off. but if they used a bit of common sense they could cover the flash with their fingers!

Glad you were able to ride it!

I agree about the pictures. On Pirates and the HM they were actually telling people during the ride to stop taking pictures. Which I thought was good. Yes pictures are memories forever, but it's really annoying for everyone else to be constantly snapping pictures. You don't even mind one here and there, but geez we saw people taking pictures the whole time and it does ruin the experience for me. We had people on Small World in front of us that thought everything was worth taking a picture of. Drove me batty! On Pirates it actually hurt my eyes a few times. I agree, leave the camera in the bag, or at least just take only a few pictures.

Glad you were able to enjoy the ride, depite the wait.

We rode and I took pictures - but with NO flash. . . it annoys me too, but if it bothered me that much or was filling such a small area with light I would speak up :) Someone was taking continous flash pictures (Like 1 every 5 seconds) our second time ever on the Space Mountain at DL and since it was our first time not riding in the front I thought at first that it may be an effect. IT was so bad I had to close my eyes until the end of the ride. . . and then I saw the culprit and my DH had noticed. If I had known, I so wuld have at least asked them to stop.

You all are right, a lot of people just shoot in auto mode and the flash comes on automatically since it's so dark! And I was thinking the same about the flash reflecting on the glass and the pictures not turning out at all!

I agree with the memories, etc. etc. I take lots and lots of pictures while on vacation, but never when I feel like I am bothering someone. And you know, if you don't know your camera, and you notice that the flash comes on, just take one or two, and not one of every single scene!

Oh well, we still enjoyed the ride. We just had our head all the way to the port hole, and were able to ignore the flashing constantly!

Now, who in their right mind would even want to take pictures on Space Mountain?? With the flash, all you see is the ugly building, not the pretty space stuff!

my family of 6 was in line for Piates and we were put in rows 4 and 5.
2 kids one adult in one row
2 adults 1 kid in the other. we all fit nicely..

Then this woman pushed her way on to our row. She was not assigned to it and we all did not fit. By BF is about 230 lbs and a big guy. and he ended up taking my DD 2.5 and putting her on his lap as there was not room. I did make a comment to her that she was supposed to wait for the next boat, but she said no I wasn't/ So there are 5 of us in a row meant for 4 and then she proceeded to put her camera in front of my face numerous times to take pictures. as I was on the end. I then told her if she did not stop I was taking the camera from her and dropping it in the water.

she then told the person with her I was ruining her experience. I then just said. next time wait your turn.

FYI Nemo picsno flash do come out ok... I have done it...

Yes, this has been typical since Nemo opened. Every minute is critical first thing in the morning as the line builds so fast. It is hard for many people to understand, but the difference in one minute arrival at Nemo can mean an extra hour of waiting in line. This will change though in coming months as the excitement dies down.
