Nemo Show - No Plan to ReOpen (Updated 9/14)

Can't stand that website, but it's been a rumor for a long time, not some revelation by said website. I know they have had contract issues with the show before and maybe the covid closure is being used to make changes. Given Primevil Whirl is closed for good, what do they even do with that area? Perhaps there is a retheme idea in play, its not the first show to be replaced in that theater location.

There are at least two [2] websites making the claim.

And FWIW, Nemo Show is no longer listed on the Disney website nor is it listed on the map for AKingdom.

The only sites I've found are just quoting the original site.

It is on the website. Doesn't mean anything one way or another though.

I was looking forward to this.
We're a family that shows work as good crowd control on us. We want to see and do everything, as content to see a minor show the first time as ride the super headliner.

This would be a shame. I'm not a huge Disney person (despite my multiple visits) or a Nemo/musical fan, but I thought this was a very impressive show and the puppets were really cool.

Eh... no way to know why it might not reopen. Jumping to conclusions does no one any good.

The man who designed the puppets has done other impressive work including Epcot's Tapestry of Nations, Broadway Musical Lion King, 2002 Olympics and more. Michael Curry.

My family has never been much for shows. But, even so, we appreciate that others like them and, more importantly from our perspective, they absorb crowds, making the lines shorter for everything else. (Same with meet and greets, though, obviously, those don't eat crowds to nearly the same degree.) Not only does the continued trimming of shows and other entertainment (if the rumor is true) make Disney less unique, it also makes the ride lines longer. Which is a major drag for people who come to Disney mostly for the rides. Combine this with the stingy hours cutbacks, and you can expect the parks to be more crowded and the lines to be longer. Ugh.
This has also been my complaint. A show like Indian Jones keeps 2500 people entertained for up to an hour. At 5-6 shows a day, that is 12,500 - 15,000 people it is "eating".

When the parks reopened after the closure, the lack of things for people to do was front and center. While the park capacity was kept low, the parks probably had, I am guessing, half of the things to do (no meet and greats, many restaurants closed, no shows, not even something for people to stop and listen to on Main Street), it means that a park that is only at 25% or normal capacity is looking like a part that is at 50%.

I do understand that Disney did what they needed to in order to survive. But this issue goes back long before the Pandemic. The public kept letting them get away with long lines. in some cases actually rewarding Disney by purchasing thing like VIP packages.

There are some things that Disney can do to to help reduce the wait times. It is simple, give people other things to do. If people are waiting an hour to meet a character, you could double the number of characters, and cut the times down. Lets face it, building additional "rooms" for characters is way more cost effective than building a new coaster. And having a lower wait time may entice some people to go to meet a character, and not be on line in front of me at Space Mountain.

Maybe Nemo become a Lady and the Tramp show with real dogs and cats. Glorious and still animal themed.

Nemo was always a favorite to my kids as they grew up in WDW. And we would love to see it again, sing along to the songs we know from all the home movies, and think of the better times. They've outgrown the movie, of course, and Nemo is no longer the fantastic Intellectual Property it was 15 years ago. That said, unless Disney says, "We're changing and adding new things," this is just Disney making cuts to things that we the fans love to enjoy. Use to, WDW was a 6-8-full-day experience. Now it's 3 days. Maybe 4. Then Universal gets the extra cash that would've been spent at Disney.

Pandora has nothing to do with animals they just so happen to be in the movie. A bugs life the characters just so happen to be animals.
Bugs Life they are showing what it is like in the world of bugs, Zootopia is in a human world, not the same.
Avatar has a role in conservation, a huge part of AKs mission.

This has been a discussion for years and years on here. An overwhelming majority have always said it didn't fit.

Unpopular opinion, but I wish the tired FOTLK was the one going.

I loved Nemo and have really missed it the last 2 visits. I’ve had 2 visits now without bothering with FOTLK (yes, it was going) and didn’t miss it one bit.
