On Easter, DH and I had a quiet day at home. It was gorgeous out, so everyone in the neighborhood was outside, pretty much for the first time this year. DH and I were planting some flowers in the front yard, and our neighbors across the street were on their porch watching their kids play in the front yard.
(We've "met" these particular neighbors twice, DH has many "yardside" conversations with the husband, and they are REALLY great neighbors. They were the first to welcome us to the neighborhood, and brought us a really nice basket of cookies at Christmas. Anyways...)
So, our neighbors came over and invited us to their house later in the evening for "Adult Game Night" with them and her sister and her fiance... a game of Apples to Apples and drinks. I am assuming they realized we were alone for the day and felt bad
We accepted their offer and came over later in the evening to play the game. We had a really great time. They put the kids to bed, and we played the game, had cake and wine and beer and had fun.
I would REALLY like to do something for them in return at OUR house. The only thing is the kids. My neighbors sister mentioned that they would do these "game nights" more, only it is hard with the kids, since they have to go to bed.
What would be a nice gesture in return?
