I'm hoping someone out there can assist me. We are LONG time veterans of WDW and this year we're planning a trip to DL July 30-Aug.11. I have been quoted great rates at the Hilton Suites/Orange/Anaheim/N. State College Blvd. and the other is Sheraton Four Points Fullerton/Anaheim/S. Raymond Ave. which we can use our SPG points with. Has anyone stayed at either of these hotels, if so I'd love to hear your comments/reviews. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hope to hear from someone. :earboy2: :

Oh, I think you definitely will want to talk to Lollipop's Mom about the Sheraton Four Points Fullerton. She stayed there a couple of weeks ago. (or you could go to her trip report & read all about it)

Don't know about the other two - but I highly recommend the Candy Cane. The have their own shuttle, and it's right next to the parks. The continental breakfast is really nice, and the rooms are great.

STAAAAAAAAAAAAY AWAAAAAAAAAAY Faaaaaaaaaar away (from the 4 points fullerton) !!!!!!! I think your best bet is to go to my tripadvisor review.... http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUser...n_Fullerton_Anaheim-Fullerton_California.html

The shuttle is terrible (2 times in the morning, and then doesn't come back until 6pm!) - its about 15-20 mins in LIGHT traffic. Staff is rude, housekeeping terrible. Location is CRAPPY!!! It is not close to anything in walking distance - not even a 7-11!!!
I would ONLy stay there if I had a convention at the hotel and didn't want to leave to go anywhere.
Stay closer - stay across the street at the Ramada maingate or the BW Park Place, or the Hojos.

I'm staying at the Hilton Suites in April. I'll definitely post a review when I get back as no one seems to have stayed there.

I stayed at the Hilton Suites for my honeymoon in 2001. It's not super close, like some of the hotels are, but the hotel was very nice--the rooms were very big, and the breakfast in the morning (don't know if they still give you that) was really good, as were the drinks at the evening reception. :) The staff was wonderful--we were stuck there a few days more than expected (September 11th fell in the middle of our honeymoon and we couldn't get a flight back for a few days), and they gave us a discounted rate for the extra nights, and had been really great even before then.

The only drawbacks to the hotel were the pool was not great at all (it may have been redone since then--I know they were working on it), and the shuttle wasn't super regular, so we ended up driving in when we went to Disneyland, which really wasn't that big of a deal--I prefer to drive in anyway. But overall, I really enjoyed my stay there.

Have a look on tripadvisor.com for reviews of anaheim hotels.

It's a great resource of first hand reviews from people like you and me who have actually stayed in the hotels.

Top 3 are Grand Californian (very expensive) and Candy Cane and Howard Johnson (very cheap). Both of the latter also come highly recommended here, are close to places to eat and shop, and within a short walk of Disneyland.

We stayed at HoJo and couldn't recommend it high enough.

We just returned from our stay at the Hilton Suites...there is a reason why they are quoting you great rates! They are one of the furthest hotels away from the parks. You have to use the ART system if you don't have your own vehicle and the service is horrible. Also, the hotel is in disrepair.

When we were there, of the two elevators they had only one was working and the door would not open on the 3rd floor...you had to go up to the 4th floor and walk down the stairs. And of course, because we were a late arrival we were assigned a Smoking room and the 3rd floor! The room looked like it hadn't been used in a while and was very shabby looking. The security chain on the door was broken off. They moved us to a Non-smoking room on the 10th floor the next day, but it wasn't much better. All the light fixtures were practically falling off the walls. The furniture was in need of replacement and the air conditioner wasn't working. The outdoor pool was drained when we first got there but was operational by the time we left four days later.

The hotel itself is very isolated and there are no restaurants nearby except the one in the lobby which is very overpriced and a Del Taco down the street.

This is more like a Motel 6 than a Hilton. Pay the extra money to stay closer to the parks (preferably at a hotel that has their own shuttle or within walking distance). Your trip will be much more enjoyable!
