Thanks for the wonderful suggestion. Also, by recommending plants that tolerate shade is very helpful.

Hostas are the best plant ever.
You can't kill them no matter how hard you try.
They come in all sorts of varieties with variegated leaves, solid green leaves etc.
They are quite pretty when grouped together.

Perhaps your neighbor has some good suggestions for a shade garden. Maybe you could ask for advice when you are informing them of it.
