Needed: Good Resume names for baby girl

We are just happy we are having a girl. He hated my boy name (he pretty much accused me of having suffered a traumatic brain injury), and started asking everyone their opinion--of course they all agreed with him; including our eye doctor? Who's eye doctor has an opinion on an unborn patients name (I guess it really was that bad)? So when we found out it was a girl, it was almost immediate relief.
Oh my. Now you have me curious ...

akcire -- I don't have any suggestions for you, but I wanted to let you know that you aren't the only one who can't think up baby names. I'm due in less than 4 weeks, and my DH and I still haven't really narrowed it down, and we don't know if the baby is a boy or a girl, so we have to have names for both.

We have the girl name list down to 2 or 3, but we talk about boys names everyday with no agreement or even a short list  Oh well, if we can't agree on anything and the hospital is forcing us to pick a name, we'll probably let me mom and sister name the baby ... they'd be so excited!

I can't remember what "crazy" reason we had for discounting Catherine with a "C", but we did.

Honestly, this kid is destined to be unnamed.
What about Ruta as her first name (so you get the pronunciation you want), and choose her middle name from the suggestions here? You can call her any name you want - first name, middle name, version of her middle name - and when she's an adult, she could use "R. Middlename Lastname" on resumes, business cards, etc.

If we were in Sweden. I would probably name my daughter Asa, which is pronounced "Or-sa" or Solveig "Sole-vway"; but I have had a bunch of English speakers read the names to me and it frankly hurts my ears. Plus, I don't want my kid to have to spell their first name and last name--I have to do that and it is a pain.

At the school I used to work at 4 years ago, the Biology teacher and his wife named their daughter Solveig. They're both of Swedish descent and wanted to give their child a traditional, Swedish name. I can remember thinking "Thank goodness they gave her a "normal" middle name."

I'm kinda partial to Carla - since that's my name. I also like Natalie and Mckenzie.

CRP - a little too close to "crap", maybe? :scared1:

Most people won't use the middle name (maybe because our parents used our full name when we were in trouble?), but it is important to remember initials, nicknames, etc.

Emma
Evelyn
Helena

Good luck!

if I have another baby and if its a girl I am also using Ruth as the middle name ( my grandmother's name) :rotfl:

my top 2 names
Charlotte Ruth
Amelia Ruth

Mary Ruth. Boy, I gotta agree that Ruth is a tough name to match with other names. I love it but it's so austere. Seems like another name like that should accompany it. that's why I suggested Mary, two syllables but simple.

OP, I know what you are saying. I just can't see walking into the CEO's office and saying "Ashlyie, can you sign these contracts" :lmao:

Kathryn has always been my favorite girls name. I also love Charlotte and Elizabeth for good, strong transitional names that have cute nick names for little girls as well as a good "adult" name to transition into if needed. I also think with RP at the end of her initials you are going to run into a lot of issues with a first name, CRP, KRP, ERP are all not favorable but still not horrible. I had a friend who's name was Amy Sue. Her last name started with an "S". Very bad.

I always lived Erma Bombeck's solution to naming a child, stick your head out the back door, yell the name 3 times like you are calling a child in for dinner. If you still like it, use it. :lmao:

I'm thinking the DH's paternal grandmother was named Carlotta. That wouldn't go bad with Ruth...

Suzanne
Christina
Jocelyn

Andrea
Elizabeth
Candace
Avery
Samantha
Cirie

How about after a Swedish town, or a twist on the name of a town?

Marsta
Lulea
Umea or Uma

DD is Juliana (which is a common Swedish name, I think...we aren't Swedish, but I remember reading when I was pregnant). She LOVES her name, and it's fairly uncommon around here without being odd. I also think it goes well with Ruth. I love the name Ruth - it is also my Grandmother's name!

Other names I like:

Alison Ruth
Carla Ruth (my mom is Carla)
Samantha Ruth
Nora Ruth

I wanted to name DD Nora Marilyn...DH and I almost came to blows over that poor child's name.

Andrea, Lillian, Eleanor

Congradulation on the pending arrival.

Denise in MI

I love Ruth as a middle name and toyed with it as a middle name for DD. My top choices to go with it were:

Lucy Ruth (and I wanted to call her Lucy Ruth)
Agatha Ruth

Husband vetoed both:mad: but I still love, love, love Lucy Ruth. I think it's cute without being too "cutesy". I also love PP suggestion of Georgia. Very pretty.

Charlotte Ruth sounds like Charlotte Russe, the clothing store.

Anna ?

Caroline?

Yeah, some of my friends have had unfortunate initials. No one really noticed too much except for very close friends who knew their middle names. Even then we had a quick giggle and moved on.

One was Ashley Sarah S. (Extended giggle on that one)

The other was Danielle Adrienne M.

I don't recall them ever getting teased about it, because really. How often do kids use a middle name? Even on school roll call it was just a first and last name deal.
