Hi.
First time poster here. I am not very good at romantic gestures. I've been with my high school sweetheart for almost 10 years (anniversary is 2/28). I plan on surprising her with a trip to Disneyland on the 28th and finally proposing. I have been searching for club 33 reservations but I'm a sheriff and our county has no hook ups nor do I know anybody.. So now I'm trying to find a way to surprise her with a wonderful proposal she deserves.. Any hopeless romantics out there that could help? Thank you in advance.. I'm a nervous wreck over here.. I just want to do this right!

Take her to lunch or dinner at the Blue Bayou. Ask for a water side table. And get down on one knee and say to her, "Honey, we are in the happiest place on earth. Would you make me the happiest man om earth by doing me the honor of being my wife?"

When you make the reservation, mention to the CM that you will be proposing to her during the meal. Ask them if the chef can do something special for a dessert or whatever.

You can make it awesome without going to Club 33.

Or you can propose to her right in front of the castle...even better if there is a princess or Mickey Mouse nearby.

If you'll be staying at one of the DL hotels, you could arrange to have a bouquet of flowers waiting for her when you return to your room at the end of the day.

If you searched the threads for Club 33, you will see there are many requests for the Club for just about the same reason you are asking. Noble thought but very hard to come by.
Stay safe. And good luck. And welcome to the boards.

Jack

Are you close to Disneyland? If so I would go down to Disneyland ahead of time and talk to a c/m (at guest relations?) or try to call and see if they can help you. They might have a great idea or may be able to arrange for something special. I'm sure it wouldn't be the first that they had a proposal at Disneyland.

Good luck, I'm sure it will be fine!!!

Personally, I don't like the idea of a proposal inside 33. I do like the idea of a proposal by the wishing well to the right of the castle. You could even hire a local photographer to take photos.

My brother proposed to his now wife at the Blue Bayou because it's her favorite restaurant and Pirates is her favorite ride. For them it was special. This may also turn out to be a special experience for you whether these are your particular favorite places, but I would throw out a few things for you to think about. Why Disneyland? Is it a special place for your girlfriend? for you? for the two of you as a couple? If so, what part of Disneyland is particularly special to her or the two of you? Seems to me that might make a good place to propose. If you haven't been to Disneyland together before, is there a particular character, movie, or aspect of Disneyland that is special to your girlfriend? Try to incorporate that into whatever you decide to do.

I agree with the others -- Club 33 is a nice restaurant but it is the hustle and bustle of a regular restaurant. Having been in both (sorry, no hook up, I was there back when I worked in recruiting), I think the atmosphere of Blue Bayou is more romantic. You've got a ton of great options to tailor it to your future fiancee's dreams.
* Blue Bayou dinner/lunch
* castle front
* Grab a photopass photographer and hit the wishing well, which is a beautiful and charming little area. Tell her what your wish is -- that she say yes!
* go through the walk-through on the castle and when you reach the end, ask her to make your lives happily ever after.
* Fancy dinner at Napa Rose with a special dessert; you could even do the Chef's Counter and see if the chef will get in on presenting the ring.
* Hotel room at DLR -- you can take a page out of my husband's proposal book and spell out in rose petals on the bed "Will You Marry Me?"
* Ride the carousel and then explain you have a different brass ring to try for.

Look around for what seems special for her and for you and you guys as a couple. Some folks love HM so much that proposing there would be perfect for them, macabre to others. Whatever you choose, it will be the right way!

Welcome to the boards! I once saw a picture of a couple on splash mountain. The guy held up a sign during the drop that said, "will you marry me?" the girl sat in front of him so she had no idea what was going on until they got the ride picture. Maybe not romantic, but super cute! Best of luck to you.

Outside Blue Bayou, there is a caricaturist. Once e seen a couple sitting there and the artist did a drawing of the guy proposing to the girl. He had a sign up on his board that said "shhhhh don't tell"

When the picture was finished he held it up for her to see and the guy pulled out a ring and dropped to his knee.

I love this idea -so sweet! Good luck to you, she will love whatever you do!

OK- I am not a sappy romantic at all, but this idea had me tearing up. I love it!

Personally I think this is the best idea, its out of the way and quiet for the most part. Beautiful scenery as well, the seven dwarves are in tbe backround....love it and I am a romantice

Yeah, I don't love the club 33 proposal, either. It could just as well be any other restaurant.

LOVE the caricature idea. That is romantic/surprising as heck, and you've got a built in souvenir. Have some just engaged shirts and some bride/groom ears waiting in a locker and spend the day getting congratulated.

If that doesn't work, I vote castle, well, or Main Street Station steps.

I love this idea!!! :goodvibes

If you google Disneyland proposals you will get all kinds of youtube videos and you could at least get some ideas from it. Is she a huge Disneyland fan? Where is her favorite place to be in the parks?

My nephew proposed in the court of angels in New Orleans Square. He told us when he was going to propose, but we didn't go over there because we felt it was a private moment. I did see photos and I think that is a beautiful location. Usually not to crowded, and more private.

I also love the caricature idea and the splash idea. Good luck and I'm sure she will be thrilled with any way you decide to ask her. =)

I love that caricature idea, how cute! And you'll have that picture always. :) My BFF was proposed to at Snow White's Wishing Well, that's one of my favored locations for a proposal, grab a photopass photographer and tell them what you're doing, they will photos for you. :) Also, the Court of Angels is beautiful. :) What I really would love is to ride the Storybook Canals at night, when you get to the arches by Jasmine's castle have the pilot stop and propose there, with the music playing in the background and the lights on the arches....so romantic. :) To get the right feeling you'd need to tell the CM's working the ride and ask for a private boat and the timing would have to be right so the Casey Jr Train wouldn't be a distraction but that would be so romantic to me. :)
Oh just thought of something else, see if the Lily Belle is out during your visit, if it is and you can get a ride you can propose on the LB, very private and you will have a CM to take photos. :)
