Need transportation help please

Hi,

My family of 4 (all adults, kids are 21 and 18) will be going on a cruise leaving from Long Beach Cruise Port on December 28th. We are coming from Toronto. We have 1 day to go to Disneyland, which I know is one of the busiest days, December 27th. We will be staying at a hotel near the cruise port. What is the best way to get to Disneyland for rope drop? Uber? Book a private car?

Book a private car service. I always use Midwilshuttle. Pay online in advance and you wont get hit by surge pricing. By booking and paying in advance you know the car will turn up and you wont be left stranded.

Under/ Lyft will be plentiful and far cheaper than a private car service. Some people feel more comfortable with the latter but if the idea of taking a ride share doesn’t spook you, go with Uber/ Lyft.

Great to know about Uber/Lyft. I did get a quote for $105 one way with the private car! Very expensive!

A ride share will be pretty expensive too, around $50 to $70. I’d recommend renting a car. There’s an Avis in DT Long Beacj, next to the Marriott, and if you use the right code you can get a rental for less than $40 with tax. Parking at Disneyland is $40, so you’ll save a few bucks and have the convenience of having a car. Plus riding the tram from the parking garage is fun!

We have used Uber/Lyft but also Lansky’s car service. The car service will cost more, most likely, but Uber and Lyft can have surge pricing, so keep that in mind. If you are planning to use Uber/Lyft and are very time sensitive, and leaving your hotel very early in the morning, I would pre-reserve your Uber/Lyft in the app the night before. You can put in the route and the time you want to be picked up. It will reserve it for you, and it locks in the price at that time. This way, you know you will be picked up on time (for the most part), rather than risk drivers cancelling on you in real time or it taking much longer than you planned for, to get a driver to take your ride/pick you up.
