Need to modify our Nat'l ressie by a few hours & the price is almost double!

I booked our reservation with Nat'l months ago and got a good rate for our trip (1/5-1/13). My current one has us at $140.17 (with taxes) using the Priceless code and the WEBK8 discount too.

Problem--now that I know my flights times I need to adjust my ressie & figured I'd pay a bit more, but not almost double. I'm changing my pickup time from 2pm to 10:30am, and my dropoff time from 12pm to 1:30pm.

My rate went from $140.17 to 264.47 and I'm adding on a coupon from the ENT book!

Should I call them & see if they can help?

I would call them, but since your pick-up is eerlier than your drop-off, there may be an extra charge for a few hours, and "hourly" rates are pretty high. Still they should honor the original price quoted plus the hourly charge.

You are adding an additional day by looking at your pickup and drop off times. Have you also looked at the rate without using the coupon. Sometimes using a coupon makes the base rate higher.

Thanks for the suggestions, I realized I wasn'y going far enough into the reservation to see the discounts applied. Duh!

I ended up adding the addt'l time, adding the coupon and now I'm paying $137.94-yeah!

yes, the new website when you modify a reservation, gives you the one screen where there are the "current" rates and cars to choose from, but when you choose your car class and continue you find you are now on a page showing the changes you made and the costs of the "old" reservation and the modified reservation

from there you choose to keep the old or take the modified

we had the same scare last week when we had to change our departure to a day later, when we took the modified, it only added the extra day rate to our original reservation

You might want to consider just going to National and picking your car up early....especially if you have emerald aisle, the new time will just show up on your garage gate receipt....
since you'll have the car for an extra 'day' you'll end up paying the extra day rate or the hourly, whichever is cheaper.

And who knows your plane may be delayed....and then you'll have made changes for nada.

I've never had a problem coming in early and picking up my car, not at MCO and not with national who , if they ran out, would just snatch an Alamo car.
