Need the scoop on shows and FPs

Rookie question here...

For shows that happen multiple times each day what's the advantage of FP? Does this just guarantee a set number of FP holders priority seating to each show and then they fill in the rest of the seating with standby until it reaches capacity? Do they count the ppl in the standby line and cut off the line at some point or is there a chance ppl standby and then don't get in? So the advantage to having FP is you don't have to line up early for the show because you're guaranteed a seat? I'm asking about shows like:

MK -Enchanted tales with Belle

HS - Disney Jr Live, Frozen sing along, Beauty and the Beast, Voyage of the Little Mermaid

AK - Lion King, Nemo

Having a FP for shows will guarantee you a seat, and once all the FP people are in the rest of capacity will be filled by the standby line. At some point in the standby line the cast members will tell you that there is a chance you will not get in, but they do not "cut off" the line, so it is possible to stand in the line and not get in.

While it is nice to know you are getting a seat no matter what, it is not usually an issue just doing them standby, my family prefers to use our FP on rides! Just a thought

Of the ones you listed, ETwB is the only one I'd use a FP+ reservation on. The rest have big enough theaters that getting in isn't really an issue (unless you are going the week between Christmas and New Year's).
