I need to find a sun lotion that prevents tan if there is such a thing. My son has two dime size areas on his face that would not tan as much as the rest of his face. I noticed that after we went to ski for 3 days around Xmas. His doctor said it is actually quite common with children with eczema. I do not even know he has eczema. We got a prescription and she said it would take 6 months to get the color back. We are going to WDW in 3 weeks. Is there anything I can use on his face to slow down the tanning?

Thanks a lot for your help,

Jane

Try using an SPF 30 or higher sunscreen. If you can find 40,45 or 50 SPF, the better. I like Coppertone the best (my sister works for the company). We were at WDW in August and I used Coppertone Sport SPF 30. It is waterproof and sweatproof. Spray it on your hands and then rub on the face but not in the eye area. Make sure it dries before he touches his face. This stuff worked great and I didn't even tan - I was hoping I would get some color but I got nothing and that was Florida summer sun. At the end of the day you will need to wash it off with soap and water. That's how well this stuff works. If you want something just for faces I also use Coppertone Ultra Sheer Suncreen for faces, SPF 30. This one is not sweatproof or waterproof so you will have to remember to reaply often. They both are labeled non-oily and I got them at WalMart (sister didn't have any at the time). You might find it a little difficult finding a good selection of sun care products this time of year so the bottomline is most all companies products are just as good. Most important is the high SPF and to remember to reaply often, especially if it is not sweatproof or waterproof. One extra measure of protection along with the sunscreen is a visor, hat or baseball cap. The fact that you are not going during the summer and if you use the sunscreen properly he should not have a problem. If no luck at Walmart try Walgreens, Target and your local sporting goods stores. They usually have stuff year round.

All the best and have a wonderful trip,

I'm going with DisnyMama on this. Coppertone Sport 30 is the only thing we use at our house. It works great. My DD is very fair skinned with strawberry blonde hair, so she burns easily. To top it off, she is very, very sensitive to almost everything like sunscreen, lotion, soaps, etc. This is the only product we have found that works for her with no reaction to it. It is also not greasy, which both kids love. I wouldn't go out in the sun without it. You will love it. Sprays on and feels like you are wearing nothing at all. Thumbs up from us.

Stores in FL carry suntan supplies year round... you won't have any problem finding some - hit the first Walgreen's or Target you see after you get out of the airport.

The sunscreen is a must, also letting him wear a hat probably wouldn't be a bad idea either.
