Looking for some ideas as to what to do for dinner our first night of our family trip upcoming. My DW, 2 DSS, DMIL, & DFIL are flying down early on a Friday, so we'll have all day to do stuff. My DSIL & DBIL are driving down & won't get down there until about dinner time Friday, so they'll be a bit tired{15-16 hr drive from PA} but would like a sit down dinner when they get there. We're staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas & have been tossing ideas back & forth. One choice was Whispering Canyon, but honestly, the menu doesn't interest me a great deal. We thought about Cape May Cafe which we love, but the problem with there is getting back to our room after dinner. A couple of us could ride in the car, but not all of us. The others would have to walk back through Epcot to grab a bus. Me personally, I'd be fine with grabbing a burger or some chicken fingers down at Roaring Forks, grab a cold beer, & sit poolside for the night. But I think I'm in the minority. Does anyone have any suggestions at what we could do? {It's such a nice problem to have, deciding which Disney restaurant to go to. I love this Disney "stress"}.

If you would like to stay in the MK area, how about Ohana or Kona Cafe at the Poly? Both those restaurants get mostly rave reviews and they may be a little more convenient for you.

Well, for us, it's Chef Mickeys on night one, every time! We follow that by riding the monorail loop, and sometimes into the MK for Wishes and Spectro.

It's a tradition that none of us are ready to give up!

If I remember correctly, there is a boat that runs between WL and the Contemporary. That would be a relaxing commute, and there are wonderful places to go over there. We personally don't go for Chef Mickey's but if you're feeling up to a character meal, you could do that.

We took the boat once, and totally by accident, we were out on the lake for the MK fireworks. It was great!

The Contemporary also has a huge food court/arcade if you go that route.

Have fun!

I would take the boat over to the CR or FW and have dinner there.
CG is a wonderful gourmet meal with a great view
Concourse Steakhouse always good and can easily accommodate large groups
Chef Mickey's when you want characters
Trails End voted the best deal on Disney property
or there is always the Hoop De Doo.

I can HIGHLY reccomend the WCC. I have eaten there many times and at least had a bite of most of the menu items and they are delicious. I was also thinking Kona Cafe. They have a really varied menu for dinner and I think some of the best service at WDW. You could also try either the Trails End Buffet located at FW(quick walk to the campfire afterward) or Hoop Dee Doo if you are looking for entertainment too. Good luck choosing.

My family will be going over to DTD after checking in at WL. Doing some shopping and then eating at House of Blues.

We're doing the Hoop-de-Hoo our first night there. Figure it's a good excuse to get DD out of the parks a little early.

I ate at the WCC last week and found it to be pretty good.

But my favorite was capnjacks in downtown disney, not much wait and the food was awesome!!!!!
