Driving into Orlando mid-evening on October 5 (probably 7-8 o'clock-ish). Need a hotel to stay for one night before checking in at Disney resort on Sunday.

Looking for suggestions for a not-skanky place that won't break the bank. Doesn't have to be fancy.

Several places pop up in the $50-range on Expedia that don't look too bad, but person recommendations are always preferred.

TIA for suggestions!

I find reading tripadvisor very helpful. Not knowing if this is just a place to hang your head or some place close to hang out during the evening before bed would make a difference in where you want to be for the night.

Leaving April 20 for 9 days. :cool1:

Sorry, Mod...I missed this forum when looking for someplace to post this!

We will just be sleeping there that night. No hanging out. Looking for cheap, clean and safe.

Ive had good luck with Hot Wire "name your price". Last year we needed a room around Universal for 2 nights before heading over to WDW. I bid and got Holiday Inn Maingate Universal for $40 per night (all fees included). This year I need one night in the same area an ended up with Best Western Plus (3 star near Univeral) for $40 total. Both of these hotels are normal $119 per night plus taxes. Give Hotwire a shot. Pick an area and star rating and bid. We have used Hotwire many times all over the country and never once been disappointed. Im not sure I would want to roll the dice on a week or longer stay but for one or two nights you can really save $$.

Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista-- good, hot free breakfast makes up for price since not in $50 range. We got it for $76 per night.

Comfort Suites Maingate East Kissimmee

Homewood Suites--- Lake Buena Vista--overal nice place. We got this one for $69 per night.

expedia has star rating - if you can list the one with 3 *** or more rating.

or just the one you think you might like.

think it will tell you how close to WDW it is too - if you put in WDW instead of orlando, Kissimmee or Lake buena Vista.

so would look for one close to WDW and at least 3*** rating.

We like to stay at Quality Suites Lake Buena Vista. We just got back from a week stay there and we got a one bedroom suite with a living room and a kitchen in a very good neighborhood for $71 and that includes free hot breakfast. It is surrounded by shops and restaurants and is about half way in between Universal and Disney. It is on Palm Parkway.

We got extended stay deluxe on palm parkway on Hotwire for $33. It was 2 1/2 stars. Free breakfast , too.

Thinking of trying hotwire. we need 2 rooms for 1 night. we added a night onto our vacation and WBC is booked. How close to our trip should I try hotwire?

The last time we were in orlando we stayed in Country Inn and Suites. We enjoyed it very much, booked a room for about $90 with a jetted tub! They offer continental breakfast, parking and a free shuttle to the airport which we took advantage of as we were going on a cruise. We are planning on staying there for the one night we need this september, before our disneymoon starts. That way we can take the shuttle back to the airport and catch the disney shuttle.
We normally book through priceline, but have booked through expedia as well.
