need some help

I will be going to Orlando July 5-12. I have always stayed at WDW resorts for the last 10 years. This year We are thinking about trying Universal instead. I love Disney resorts! My favorite is the Yacht Club. The rates are really the draw back to my returning this year to disney. I just don't think the room there is worth the money. I need some feedback on the PFH. Will I enjoy this hotel as much as Disney Deluxe resorts. My Children are 17 and 7. How do the rooms compare to Disney. Best bet hotwire on room rate? I haven't been to universal in 8 years. Need some advice. I don't mean to sound like an idiot just confused.

I have stayed at beach club and loved it there. Just recently back from HRH. Liked the HRH, but probably would do a deluxe room. Spent some time at PBH while there, and it is nice. Quieter, great pool, that is uncrowded, more restaurant choices onsite, the rooms are bigger, too. REALLY want to stay there next time. It is a very nice hotel. If you like yacht club, you'll like this one. Cannot beat fotl access. Hotwire lists a 5 star hotel in the universal wet and wild area for your dates for $149. WELL worth it. Check other posts to make sure this is the hotel you get.

I guess you are asking about the Portofino....it is a big step above disney's deluxe resorts...just under if not equal to the grand floridian...but the Portofino has much better rates.

Even Universal's Royal Pacific Resort...considered the value resort on Universal property is as nice if not nicer than Disneys deluxe resort.

Hubby and I have decided that lowes hotels just mean quality all the way around. We love them, and the treatment we receive from check in to the minute we leave.

I can see why the Orlando Sentinel reported such an increase in guest to the Universal resort area and a decrease to the Disney resort area.

Absoutley the way to go is Portifino Bay Hotel! I would suggest you check into the Fan Club for an AP so that you qualify for ap rates for your dates if there available go ahead and book the rooms then by the passes. I just bought ap's from fan club this month for 99 which included all the discounts at the hotels and resturants in the parks and city walk. I also got the PBH for 129 with my ap! Can't beat it. Service is the best i've ever seen and very, very consitient. I have stayed 25 times at PBH in the last year and never had a snag with service now that's Quality! Check out the green house spa with the $$$ your saving it's so worth it. I can recommend someone for you.LOL Anyways if passes are not in the cards for you try to book ent. rate and then order yourself an ent. book.! Get on it girl this is the ONLY hotel on property i ever care to stay at!

You have actually stayed at PBH 25 times in the last year?? How lucky are you! I would definitely say you are an expert! Curious as to how you can go so many times!! I only get 2 weeks vacation from my job.LOL.
