Hello everyone!

We are going with two children, ages 7 and 8, from Sept. 14-22. We are so excited but want this trip to be smooth and fun for all. I have been several times but I do not think I have ever been this time of year. Could anyone please share experiences from this time? Such as temperature, crowds, etc??? I would really feel better if I had some idea what to expect.

The PERFECT time of year to go, IMO! :thumbsup2
Crowds are low, there's hardly any lines (sometimes Fast Pass machines are even covered up). Temps could still be hot, but not as bad as July and August. Expect a brief afternoon rainshower or two, but they usually pass pretty quickly. Accuweather has 15-day forecasts, and that's always fun to watch as your trip approaches.
We'll be there at the same time!

We went the last week of September last year and there were low crowds except for MK on Saturday. We had unusual weather, it rained maybe once while we were there and my DH teased me about bringing ponchos to the park every day. It was very warm and humid, I think it was around 90 every day with high humidity. We wore tank tops, shorts and sandals all day long even at night. Because it was so warm we would always go back to the resorts in the afternoon to take a little pool break and cool down before we went back to the parks at night.

This is not the time of year to commando tour! The heat and the humidity are definitely factors that must be considered. We were there in September of 2002 and while it was the most magical vacation of all, it was also the slowest paced. We always had a bottle in our hands. DRINK! I can not express to you how important it will be to drink. We drank even when we were not thirsty. We were sweaty 90% of the time. We sat on benches in the shade and took our time and learned of the magical stuff that Streetmosphere characters can create. We took advantage of the air conditioning at every opportunity. The lines were not a factor for us, with proper planning. Use the Best Days Guide and you should do well. Eat smaller meals....heavy food and heat are not a good combo. Basically, just know that it can be lots of fun, but it takes a little extra effort. Weather happens, but 2 for $1 rain ponchos from Dollar Tree can keep you moving. Don't let the rain slow you down! It empties the parks and makes for even shorter lines!

Ok, just know that we will be there for only 3 days.....September 20th, 21st, and 23rd....we will be having fun rain, heat, sun, humidity, or surprise cool evening! We hope you have lots of pixie dust too! Maggie

We always go in Sept. every year. low crowds and waits. I could'nt fathom June or July. you will love it!

My DH and I went September 2002 as well. The weather was a tad hot daytime but come night we were chilly. I had to buy a coat for Fantasmic!

It really was my dream trip that year and we have been all other times of year but I like the feel of summer

low crowds and ice cream!

Thank you! This is fantastic advice. It looks like we will be staying at Carribbean Beach, and we have never stayed there. Is it nice?? Good for kids? Thank you again!!

We'll be at Carrib Beach too! Haven't been there since 1991. We are taking some sand toys for our son to play with. But I understand the resort sells child meals that come with a sandpail and shovel.

There's an entire FAQ thread about CBR on the resorts board.

We visited in Sept of '99 for our Honeymoon at CBR. What fun! I feel it was a GREAT time of year. Very hot and humid (it rained EVERY afternoon, but only one even closely resembling a storm) but as long as you drink plenty of water, you will be fine. We are going back in Sept to the Contemporary (we don't get here often as we live in AZ and it gets EXPENSIVE) and I feel we will probably always go at this time until I am too afraid to take the kids out of school. (DS 5 and DD 4) So hopefully we can take a few more trips till then!

I always go in September and it's great. Take a look at the picture in my trip report (link's below) of the line at Small World :thumbsup2

Glendamax, great trip report. Hopefully we won't be having any of those 97 degree days. So are you going again this September? If so, have fun!

THANK YOU! I loved the trip report! Now I really can't wait. I am so excited, mainly because this will be the first trip for our 7 and 8 year old daughters. They are so excited!

I wrote a trip report about our trip last September. We have been to WDW 5 out of the past 6 Septembers. It's always been our favorite time of year...however, it's not for those who get overheated easily or who would be upset about a few closed for refurbishment signs. All in all, I think it's the most magical time of year (although I have heard great things about October, early November, early December, early January, Feburary and late August as well.

My trip report can be found by clicking on the link in my signature.

We went last Sept and are going again this Sept (13-19). Last year it was hot (low 90's every day) and it only rained one day - our first day there. Even at night it was warm enough for shorts and t-shirts. I only wore jeans the first day (when it rained) and that's only because that's what I wore on the plane - it was a little chilly in RI when we left.

My sis and I are also going at that time (Sept 15-20) and I have heard it is a great time to go. The weather won't bother me to much as I am used to hot humid weather (live in the New Orleans area so our weather is similar).

Thanks for reading! Wasn't it something that Small World was a walk-on?!
And yes, I am going again this year- Sept.8th to 14th! Only a month to go!!

I found it amazing that there were so many rides you were able to just walk on. Honestly, I can't even imagine that! I have a feeling this last month of waiting will be the roughest part!

We stayed at POR for the last week in Sept. 2002. It was hot every day 88-92 and humid. During our 10 day stay, we saw rain for about 15 minutes one day (must have been a fluke!). We never needed to use a fastpass once! Splash Mountain was a 10 minute wait @ 2 in the afternoon...You picked a good time! :woohoo:
