Okay, so here is the plan: We are taking our 2 adult kids and their spouses next February. BCV is our home resort and we love it, of course. Their spouses have never been to WDW (only Disneyland) so I would love to do a split stay at BCV and BLT. We will be using banked points and current year points to book room(s). Still not sure of what type of rooms we are getting, but I'll book all 5 nights at BCV at my 11 month window and then at 7 months try to get in BLT. If I find availability at BLT for 2 nights, will I be able to cancel those exact 2 nights at BCV when confirming BLT? Or do I have to use new points for BLT and then cancel BCV? How does this work? Am I dreaming? I appreciate all the help from the experts on this board!

If your intention is to do a split stay then I would book BCV at 11 months as a 3 / 2 split. Then at the 7 month mark modify the last 2 days to BLT.

You could book all 5 nights at BCV and then book the additional 2 nights at BLT (but if you have to borrow that is a 1 way transaction). After booking BLT you would go back and modify BCV from 5 nights to 3 nights.

If the plan is a split stay, I’d book the two separate BCV reservations, 3 nights then 2 nights each at their 11 month windows, same villa type category. At 7 months look for the modification of the 2 nights to BLT. If can’t get what you want, request MS to link the total 5 nights at BCV into one reservation.

Definitely book it as a split to start. If, at 7 months, you can’t get BLT, MS can have it merged into one 5 night stay.

But, to use points from the BCV reservation for BLT if booked as one trip to start, you have to first cancel the two nights before trying to book which is a risk.
