My little ****zu dog has an accident this past weekend and was chewing at his tail repeatedly until the point of bleeding. We took him to the vet last night and the vet told us he has nerve damage which could be caused from a tail being stepped on or crushed in a door...we don't know how it happened but the doctor shaved his tail and gave us topical cream to put on twice daily. He told us if it doesn't start to heal within a week we might have to amputate part of his tail, which makes me cry even thinking about it. Our dog has had some behavioral issues these last few months which made us think about putting him up for adoption. Since we got him 3 years ago alot has changed, everyone in the house works full time and is rarely home...this isn't fair to us or more importantly the dog....

any happy thoughts or encouraging words would be appreciated.....
