Hello! I would like your advice/opinion on whether or not you think this will work. I have 7:20pm ADRs at Cali Grill for my DDs birthday. It is on a night that the MVMCP is going on so the fireworks (according to the info on this board) will begin at 9:30pm. I am also having the CR make her a birthday cake to suprise her with at dinner. In your opinion is this too much of a lag time between our ADR and the fireworks to be able to see them during or right after dinner? I know we can always come back and watch them but I don't want to have to do that. I would like to go back to the room after dinner and not sit around the CR with leftover cake and two tired kids if I can avoid it.

Is the Cali Grill a liesurly dining experience? I know they may not be able to get us seated exactly at 7:20 (that would work out well if we had to wait a few minutes....get us closer to fireworks time). I am just trying to figure out what to expect. Thanks!!

I think that timing is just fine so that you can eat a nice, relaxed meal, have time to focus on celebrating your daughter, and then walk out to the deck to watch the fireworks.

Even if you were to finish up dinner ahead of time, save your dinner receipt, and you can go check out the shops and arcade at the resort, then return to the restaurant to watch from outside on the deck.

We find the California Grill to be a great place to linger over a meal though. We've been at the table for two hours easily.

You can linger, but your kids (according to your sig) are kind of young. Will they WANT to linger? If so, great!

If not, there's always the arcade on the 4th floor. A good one! You can pass time there if you need to.

I'm sooooo excited to hear this, as I made my very first reservation for California Grill this morning for our trip in February. 7:45pm dinner.....9pm fireworks. I can't wait!:goodvibes

Just so you know, it's very likely that the fireworks will happen before your meal ends, unless you are spectacularly fast eaters. The servers are very adept at timing things so a pause to watch fireworks doesn't impact your meal, though.

You can also be just a tad tardy for your ADR to give you more breathing room, 15 minutes won't seem rude.
