New Disney Visa "Inspire" card

Overall pretty happy with the new card! I only hold the no AF Disney Visa and have exhausted most of the Chase/AMEX UR/MR earning cards for awhile, so it is an easy pick up.

Disney dining will probably continue to go on my CSR or Amex Gold for 3x/4x points versus 3% Disney dollars, but otherwise I expect this card to get a lot more use than my current sock drawered Disney Visa.

Stick with the Gold, CSR, CFU or CFF for 3x as this card only offers 2x on dining.

I was under the impression that tickets could not be charged to the room folio, but had to paid on the spot. At least, that used to be true. Has that changed?
No it hasn't.

You are replying to my reply where they were stating that they wish they could double dip the $200 Vacation / Cruise Package and $100 Ticket credit.

I was mentioning if we could somehow the ticket dollars would certainly qualify for it but yes that wouldn't matter to qualify since Tickets can't be charged to the folio to my knowledge.

So I just had $12,000 put on my Premier for my DVC purchase. (With the remaining $21,000 being charged at later dates.) Should I be switching this?? I mean, I assume it's too late to change that first 12k. But maybe I should be applying for this and calling the guide to change my upcoming payments?

Thoughts?

I need to look at the premier and see how much we typically get 2% on and then figure out if an extra 1% is enough to make up for the annual fee increase.
This is my same situation. I just put $10K on the Premier card and I don't expect I can move that at this point.

Remaining 2 payments starting in two weeks. My plan is to call and switch over to the Inspire card for the remaining 2 payments. That'll hit the spend limit and get us 3% instead of 2% back on the DVC purchase which knocks another $2.5/pt off the price for the remaining 2/3 of the purchase. The extra 1% on the remaining balance offsets the higher AF. Not bad!

Then we'll put one AP on the Inspire card to get the $100 back on that too. The rest we'll do with discounted DGCs.

And insert my Grumpy face here. Just got back from WDW where I had to buy day tickets for family and put their rooms on our card (flight got canceled home due to the snow storm and booked everyone in one call). Could have nailed all the bonuses in one go if Bob had rolled this out two weeks earlier!

They will split the payment.

I'm greedy so I would just pay the $200 to trigger the $100 credit since you already have discounted gift cards.
Ohh, good to know! Thank you. I knew I could split up DVC payments, but didn't know I could do various payment methods at once on the AP. That's perfect. Yep, agreed that I'll just do $200 to hit the threshold on the AP then balance onto our DGCs.

As I’ve been churning business cards for a while I’m way under 5/24 and decided to use one spot for this one. The first year will be a net positive and next year I’ll decide if I keep it. Likely will downgrade to the no AF to have one of the cards in case there are futures incentives (I currently don’t have any Disney cards).

Interestingly, Chase hasn’t automatically approved an application for me in years, but this one was. Maybe Disney is sending some “magic” to Chase to incentivize approvals 🤣

For those with pending DVC purchases, it's quite possible (not guaranteed) the credit for spending $2000 might work on a direct DVC purchase so that is really cool. @ClaraOswald bare minimum I would upgrade my card before another payment. You'd have to decide if a new card app should worth $600 or not.

Funny way to put it, lol. I wonder if he even has any idea, might be too far below his pay grade.

But sorry it wasn't timed well for you! Similarly, if I had known this was coming last December, I wouldn't have taken up a 5/24 slot with a Hawaiian Barclays card that I didn't really need (just had FOMO since those are going away). There's always next time! I think I'll get DH to get this card for our June Disneyland trip, unless I can upgrade. Otherwise, I'll get my own later this year since I need to save a 5/24 slot for the upcoming Hyatt card.

I will report back on if the DVC installment payment counts towards the $2000 spend when my card arrives and I can switch it over. Either way, I want that extra 1% off on the upcoming payment.

Oh yeah, totally kidding on Iger's involvement. I should have just used Mickey as the stand-in there, but Bob's been a bit in the news this morning!

That stinks on the 5/24. Yep, my backup plan was for DW to get the card if I couldn't due to the 5/24.

To get the signup bonus yes it has to be a new app.

If you just care about the extra 1% ($210 on your DVC purchase) then no you could just upgrade.
Thanks for confirming this.

If we do a new app, can we keep the original card number, or would it be a new card number issued?
