I need some ideas for finger foods that are quick and easy to make! I wound up with WAY more to do this week than I anticipated and of course its my week to hold Bunco.

I was thinking of buffalo chicken dip and tortilla chips.
and maybe some cold veggies?

Help I need ideas!

Good morning Binny!

There is one place that I usually get my appetizer recipes from: www.bestsimplerecipes.com It's from Taste of Home and has recipes from each of their magazines (Taste of Home, Quick Cooking <now Simple & Delicious>, Light & Tasty, etc).

I was subscribed to their Quick Cooking publication and had gotten a few from there for our church's Couples Club get-togethers which have included Bunco (but as you can tell from my tag, we called it Bonko  ).

The only two though, that I can think of off the top of my head are the old Pigs in a Blanket and Bacon and Pinapple.

What's Bunco?

Here is the recipe for the easiest and most delicious dip I have ever made....ready?

1 block of cream cheese
chili

Pour chili over block of cream cheese and microwave. Stir. Serve with tortilla chips or Fritos.

:)

Get some of those Snyder pretzels that are about postage stamp
sized and square.

Add one large, pastel mint or chocolate drops you can find at
Michaels or a craft store.

Place on tray under oven at 200 degrees just long enough for the
chocolate to get soft (less than a minute). Then add an
M & M to the top of the drop. It will sink in a bit and
cool that way.

It is a yummy sweet and salty snack. Make lots though as they
tend to get eaten quickly.

Basically its a an excuse to get out of the house once a month for a girls night and have a drink and maybe win a few bucks. Girls version of poker night I guess but with better food

Thanks for the ideas. Gosh Taz I dont know if I can handle that dip....

LOL

Keep the ideas coming please :) I have to go shopping tonight.

Costco and BJ's have a ton of choices for "finger food type" foods.

Make a fruit tray or a veggie tray
chips and dip
those little pinwheel things that have ham or turkey, cheese and lettuce
cheesecake

I know! When my friend at work told me about it, I was afraid to make it at first since it's so complicated. I decided to brave it out and make it for the Superbowl back in whatever month that was in. It was really tough, but it turned out ok. It's just as complicated as it sounds! :rolleyes1

We do the chili cheese dip around here...the difference is we top the chili with shredded cheese. I will even let my DDs have it for dinner;) Don't tell the parenting police.

Cheese balls are also easy to make.
Pepperoni and Cheese trays always empty quick.
Salami roll ups
Pickle roll ups
Triangle sandwiches...if no condiments this goes pretty fast.

I make this with a Hershey Hug instead of the chocolate drop. It gives it a festive, striped look. And I agree, they are addictive and get gobbled up quickly!
Have fun! You are making me hungry!

around here we make them with Rolo candy. Mmmmmm. I can eat a million of these. ;)

Fire crackers:
A box of saltines
1pkg. ranch dressing mix
1 TBSP Cayenne pepper
2 TBSP red pepper flakes
2 TBSP garlic powder
1 c olive oil
1 pkg Philadelphia cream cheese

1. Put all of the crackers in a plastic container standing up.
2. Mix all of the ingredients(except crackers) together.
3. Pour mixture over crackers.
4. Let sit a few minutes, then turn the container over.
5. Do # 4 a couple of times.
Serve with Philly cream cheese. The combination of spicy with the cool cheese is delicious.

Pasta salad - tri colored rotini pasta, olive oil, pesto, spices of your choice - I also like to put some drained, canned chicken breast in there.

Are you looking for snacks to have on the playing tables or just to have? We usually had a bowl of chocolate something, M&M's , rolos, etc. and a bowl of salty something, chips, Chex mix, etc. I like the Hannover's brand of pretzel bits too if you have those around.

My favorite dip one of my friends brings to Bunco is BLT Dip. Equal parts mayo and sour cream. Slice some bacon, tomatoes, and lettuce! It's great on bagel bread or the pumpernickel bread squares!! YUMMY!!!
