Hello,

I thought I was going to book a flight on SW, but now am considering AirTran instead and would appreciate some input.

We are a family of three DD just turned 5. We have never flown and it is important that we all sit together. From what I understand from reading posts on SW if we buy EBCI we are still not guaranteed 3 seats together. Is this correct? Of course if we do end up going through SW we will buy the EBCI.

If we book through AirTran we can pay as little as 6.00 each and choose our seats when we book. But I have read that AirTran is notorious for changing flight times. And also being afraid to fly, I really do not want to have to endure a lay over.

So this is my dilemma. What would you all do? :confused3

my family flew SW the last time we went to disney. there were 4 of us. i just booked tickets, didn't but the early bird...i went on line 24 hours before my flight and got my confirmation numbers. we were in the boarding group b and were able to get seats together, we wanted 2 and 2. for the flight home, i called SW and we were with boarding group a...disney then printed out our tickets since we were using the ME. again we sat 2 and 2 no problem finding seats. we flew airtran back in 06 when we went to disney and while it was a little cheaper...it wasn't that great. mind you, i am one that if i get there and my luggage is there too...its a good trip. the next time we go, we will definately use SW again and i don't think i would pay extra to confirm a few hours earlier. good luck...have a great trip!!!

We fly SW all the time and have never had a problem. When the kids were little (5 & 3) we were standing at the front of the "C" line and the clerk put us in the "A" line to keep us together.

If you book Airtran and it is important to you that your entire party sit together, purchase the seats for everyone.

If it's only important that someone sit with the child, purchase a seat for the child and one adult.

Yes, sometimes they do change flight times. If you get a change, you can call them and change to a different flight or get a refund and book elsewhere.
