We have been to Beauty and the Beast, Rent and Lion King. DH would like play tickets as a gift. I was thinking of Aida. Has anyone seen it and enjoyed it? Would it be inappropriate to bring an 8 year old to this show.(she is mature enough to attend a show)
Also, has anyone attended "Movin Out" the show based on Billy Joels music? DH loves Billy Joel but I read a review of the show and it has no dialogue. Not sure how that wold be!

I haven't see Movin' Out yet, but I took the dd's to see Aida two years ago -- they were 8 and 10 at the time.

my girls loved Aida. they could follow and understand the plot, loved the music.

I would definitely go with Aida. It would be completely acceptable for your 8 year old as well.

I haven't heard much about Movin' Out, but if it's kind of like Mamma Mia, I would imagine it would be pretty good. :)

We saw Aida 2 years ago and loved it. I think it is very apropriate for an 8 YO. The music is great. The cast has changed since we saw it. Movin out is a fun show, it is compared to Mamma Mia which was fun but I thought it was only OK. I would go with Aida I enjoyed it much more than Mamma Mia.
Has anyone seen Baz Lurhman's Boeme? I think we are going to try for that before DD goes back to college.

I think you would enjoy Aida. It's a really fun show, and the 8-year-old would probably like it a lot.

I hope to see Movin Out sometime soon. I LOVED Mamma Mia, and I like Billy Joel a lot, and I've read good reviews of the show. I you like ABBA, then you'll love Mamma Mia. Actually, one of the times I saw it, I talked to a lot of people who had no idea who ABBA was before seeing the show, yet they were loving the show!

I've been meaning to see Aida on student rush but haven't gotten around to it yet. However, all of my friends who have seen it have enjoyed it.

Movin' Out was absolutely incredible. I may be biased because I do take dance and really love watching dance, but it was just amazing. If you go, try to see the evening cast - there is a different one for matinees. I was incredibly impressed with John Selya in particular, his dancing was amazing. But really, all of them are amazing dancers. There were a lot of Billy Joel fans there, so I bet your DH would enjoy it. It was definitely one of my favorites that I've seen this year.

I haven't seen "Aida", but my mom has and she completely raved about it. She did everything to talk me into seeing it, except buy me tickets. :( ;)
