My daughter is in college and she needs a pair of rain boots that are also walking boots (good soles) to walk around campus in. Of course, they must be stylish too.

Budget friendly would be ideal! :goodvibes

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I was on Piperlime.com today & saw some rain boots on there for adults. I don't know what you consider budget friendly though! Or try Zappos.com.

My daughter goes to college in the south, and the rains during winter can be brutal...I bought her a cool pair of Sperry rainboots at Zappos.com as a Christmas gift last year.

They may not be considered 'budget'...I believe I spent about $60-75 on them...but at her age her feet are done growing and I'd rather she have a sturdy pair that will last. Sperry is a brand I know.

Zappos.com is a great place to shop because of their free return policy. It was nice knowing that no matter how early I'd purchased the boots, as long as they were in 'new' condition they would return them no questions and pay for return shipping.

My daughter LOVES the boots too...she says they're very comfy to walk around in and keep her feet nice and dry!

I agree with the Target boots; the price is just right! Her feet are no longer growing, but next year she will want something different, so I really don't want to purchase an expensive pair every year. My daughter did the actual searching online for the pair the wanted; she's old enough to shop for herself. The only reason I know anything about them is because she wanted me to pay for them. :rotfl: She forwarded the link to me so that I could/would order them and have them sent to the dorm. She goes to school in the south and most of the girls wear them.

This is the pair she requested: http://www.target.com/Capelli-New-York-Zebra-Rain/dp/B003728RBW/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&searchView=list&keywords=rain%20boots&fromGsearch=true&sr=1-5&qid=1285931955&rh=&searchRank=target104545&id=Capelli%20New%20York%20Zebra%20Rain&node=1038576|1287991011&searchSize=30&searchPage=1&searchNodeID=1038576|1287991011&searchBinNameList=subjectbin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin&frombrowse=0

She emailed me a picture after she got them. They look really cute and she said they are very comfortable (and she has huge feet)!

:cheer2: Hi soul!

on Zappos Check out the Sorel Torino- red plaid cute cute cute-

I would go for more of a waterproof hiking boot- particularly if she is somewhere where it'll snow. (by the way how can she be in college? feeling old......)

Crocs has some cute ones. And they weigh nothing....really light.

I did this last year too - but bought the Sperry rain boots at shoebuy.com - the style she liked was less expensive there. She walks a lot on campus and loves her Sperry's. The styles are so fun too.

My daughter bought her rain boots at Target and she loves them. And her classes are really spread out this year so she is doing quite a bit of walking in them.

Also a fan of the Target boots. I bought a pair right after I got married and :lovestruc them!!! I about cried when I out grew them, thank you so much DS!!!!:lmao:

Check out Sporto brand. Be careful, though. They have waterproof and water resistent. Waterproof the uppers are sealed to the bottoms and can handle walking through puddles. Water resistant can handle a quick trip through the rain--or even not so quick!--but feet will get wet in puddles!

They aren't necessarily the cheapest--or most expensive, but they do have some decent styles. :)

Check HSN--they've having a fall footwear event and Sporto is one of the brands. :)

Zappos is another possibility. And I'm sure there are others! *LOL*

OMG! I can't believe it myself. It just blows my mind every time I think about it.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

My daughter found Sperry Boots that she absolutely loves for $69.99, we found a coupon for 15% off, lowering the price to $59.99 with Free Shipping and Returns. I'm still working on the price to see if we can find a Promo Code with a larger percent off.

It's sort of a game I play with myself. Sort of a high if I can get it down even lower. Just makes me wanna dance. :cool1:

Anyway,

Her shoe size is a 7 1/2. Do you know how they run? Should she get a 7 or an 8. They don't come in half sizes.

Again, thanks to all who gave their suggestions.

I think I will be buying myself a pair from Target. What a great selection!!!:goodvibes

Do you mind sharing the code?

Thanks,

Penny

My D researched rain boots before she bought her. The Target brand had many complaints of leaking, so I sent her the Kamik Heidi's and she's been really happy with those.

I live in the soggy PNW and personally I like Sloggers and Puddletons. Here is a website that carries a several different brands and is fairly reasonable. Some of them are sooooo cute!

http://www.rainbootsonline.com/

They have free shipping and free returns. :)

Of course I'll share the code!

She bought the Sperry Top-Sider Women's Pelican Rain Boot
Item Number: 4480740.

Features:
Waterproof Construction for a Dry Fit in Wet Weather
High Gloss Durable Waterproof Rubber
Cushioned Micro-fleece Lining for Added Comfort and Warmth
Non-marking, Rubber Outsole with Razor-cut Wave-SipingT for Wet/ Dry traction

From Dicks Sporting Goods and the Promo Code we used was: DSP_WELCOME15.

Hope that helps.

I just bought a pair of the Target ones for $6.24, and they had tons left over. I really don't need rain boots, I live in the dessert, but we do go to camp in the mountains where there is a lot of rain and mud and flooding.
