We are beginning to plan our first DVC stay as members :woohoo: We will be two families, our family of five defiitely needs a 1 bedroom and my brothers family either 2 or 3 will be joining, so a studio would work fine. Points aren't a concern renting either a 2 bedroom or a 1 bedroom/and studio combo for all of us. I am wondering what the sq. footage is on the 2 bedroom? Also, do the studios have washer/dryers? And the 2 bedroom unit, does it have two private baths? I'm also thinking privacy for each family? I'm a bit confused on what the best way to book this would be based on comfort, privacy, etc. I would love to hear your suggestions based upon past accomodations and knowledge of these units at BCV. What would you do? I would like this to be a wonderful first stay for all of us. Thanks so much!

I will try to answer some of your questions!.
Studios do not have a washer and dryer, only 1 bedroom or larger. All 2 bedroom units have 2 bathrooms.
A 2 bedroom at the BCV comes in 2 different types. One is a dedicated 2 bedroom which means it would not have a separate entrance to the hall and the kitchenette area. There are a limited number of 2 bedroom units which have 2 Queen beds, the others have 1 Queen bed and a sofa bed. You need to request the 2 bed units when you make your reservation.
Lock off 2 bedroom units are configured by combining a 1 bedroom unit and a studio unit. This configuration would have a 2nd doorway into the hallway, as well as the kitchenette area and a private balconey. It would also have a private bathroom.
Given your family situation a 2 bedroom unit would be comfortable and provide a nice degree of privacy. The 2nd family would have their own room and bathroom and if you had a lockoff they would be able to come and go without disturbing anyone. You all would have access to the ktichen and laundry facilitieis. If you booked a 1 bedroom and a studio they may not be adjacent to each other, even if you request it.
If there is any chance they could cancel on you, you are better off booking a 1 bedroom and a studio since you could cancel the studio and get those points back.
Have a Great Trip

THANKS so much for this explanation. I think a lock-off 2 BEDROOM would suit us perfectly. :grouphug: Best!
