I know this subject is about restaurants and I did not post on the restaurant board.... It seemed most of the stuff over there pertained to "Disney World"....sorry if it's in the wrong place...

Anyway -- from what I could gather by seaching around this is what I came up with.... what do you think and if you have any suggestions that would be great!... thanks....

Old Oyster Factory
Scott's Fishmarket
Giuseppi's

Need more info on Catch 22??... Also, how is Crazy Crab...? I believe we ate at Crabby Nick's years ago.- I thought it was horrible!!!! (sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone)...We have only been to HH once and for a very short time...
How is Salty Dog, Antonio's, Alexanders....??

Any info would be great....
Oh --- any suggestions for breakfast...? I saw Signe's on Rachel Ray's $40 a day....

We have eaten at both Scott's Fishmarket and Guiseppis. Scott's has great atmosphere if you eat outside but is pretty pricey. Guiseppi's is what I would rank as one of the best Italian/Pizza places I have ever encountered. We actually heard about it through my sister and when we tried it we LOVED everything!! It is now a tradition to get an order of spaghetti and meatballs and garlic cheesebread to-go and eat-in at least once a trip. If we arrive late for check in, we stop by and place an order, check in and then go pick it up. They also deliver!!

Guiseppe's and The Salty Dog are must dos for every one of our trips! We always have Old Oyster Factory on our list, but never seem to make it there!

We ALWAYS make a point to dine at Giuseppi's and Scott's Fishmarket when at HH. The Old Oyster Factory is also a good choice.

Others we enjoy are The Harbormaster (walking distance of the resort), Alexanders, The Old Fort Pub and Cafe Europa. There are about 300 restaurants on HH, so the options are plentiful. Even though we've been going to HH for over 25 years now, we have not tried all of the dining options available.

Enjoy the research!

If you have transportation we really like Cafe Wexford for lunch or dinner, it's an upscale French restaurant that we have loved for years. We also like Hudsons for seafood - more because of tradition than probably quality of food. It gets really packed and has been around forever.

We always go to Hilton Head Ice Cream. There is also a specialty food store next to Red Fish, where you can get a precooked meal to go. They have the best Chocolate Eclairs I've ever had. They don't always have them, I start calling the day I get there and encourage them to make them.

Strips is also a local favorite and the food is really good. They have a mushroom pate that is to die for and I will often call and see if I can get it to go (it's an appetizer), and if they are not real busy they will do it, otherwise no. It's pretty pricey for dinner.

We are going to have a two bedroom at Disney's Hilton Head Resort, arriving May 21st. I am now just counting the days! :hourglass

This is a great post because my vacations are usually run at the whim of my stomach & taste buds. :rotfl2:

Do any of these restaurants have nice water views? I live in Central Illinois and the only water I get to see is in my bath tub. :earboy2:

Both Old Fort Pub and Cafe Europa are on the water. Another one on the water is Hudson's. We've eaten at Cafe Europa and Hudson's-both were great!

Harbourmasters has a new name now -- although at the moment, I can't think of what it is! :rolleyes1

We also eat a Hudson's almost every trip, but Hilton Head Ice Cream is an absoulte MUST for us. I finally broke down and bought one of their t-shirts on our last trip, so if I wear it on future trips, we get a discount there. ;)

We LOVE Alexander's -- it's on one of the lagoons in Palmetto Dunes. Pricey, but the dinner has always been outstanding.

Another place the we've had good luck with is Marley's. Oh, and don't forget the Sea Shack for a VERY casual lunch or dinner.

We were just in HH a week ago.
We ate at Alexander's, very good
Iron Wolf Chop House, very good
And 1 other place near Hudson's. It was also good.

They all had kid's menus and the early dining special at Iron Wolf was exceptionally good.

I wanted to try Old Oyster Factory, but maybe another time.

We have eaten at Scott's Fish market in the past. Food was good.

Chef Gordon's "Private Affair" at Disney is the best deal you can find. The food was awsome, was all the wine we could drink, we felt very special. I'd book it ahead of time rather than wait till you get there. You can call disney Hilton head and ask for his extension.

I agree, but sadly, I think "The Private Affair" might have been discontinued. I recently Emailed Chef Gordon and asked him, and he managed to dodge my question. But if it's true, I'll just be so grateful we got to experience it once.
I'd love to hear from anyone who's eaten at Hudson's for dinner. We ate there on our way out the last day, chose it because we'd seen in on TV. Loved it and are now thinking of making a special trip in that direction for dinner.
Another great place for ice cream is the new place (Bruster's?) near the mall-Boy, they give you a lot!

Sunset Grille is on the water. Reservations are a must here.

I like Alexanders for the early dinning special and make sure you ask for the porch. It is screened in and on a river.

San Miguels is a must for us. We love Mexican food and the live music.

Across the resort on tues nights should be a guy named shannon tanner. he is a pretty good entertainer.

Crazy Crab (not the one in Sea Pines; the one as you first enter the Island) is an annual must-do. They have a deck overlooking the marsh where you can have drinks while waiting for your table, with an entertainer in the summer months. If you have small children, you would be interested in the small, fenced-in playground below the deck. You can sip your wine and keep an eye on the kids. The fried seafood is excellent and they have the best hush puppies we have had anywhere.

These are all great posts! I am filling a legal pad writing these all down. :goodvibes

Man, this is making my mouth water and I still have 26 days to go. :p

The Salty Dog shouldn't be missed......very relaxing, casual, wonderful!

We ate at the Salty Dog last summer. To be honest I thought it was extremely overrated and cannot understand what they fuss is about.

MTE!! I am writing it all down and putting it in my HHI planning folder. :)

Has anyone eaten at Signe's? I saw it on $40 A Day w/ Rachael Ray and it looks like it would be an awesome place for breakfast.

Just a note if you have small children. No place had crayons or paper to color on that we went to except Iron Wolf. They also have a cool, very long aquarium that DD loved.
