Need opinions in an awkward situation...

I think I would make it a very different Disney vacation than you had planned. Make it a fun/friend vacation and get rid of all the romantic stuff.

Sorry to hear that this happened. Hope things get better for you.It must be very difficult.

Drop the places that will make you "remember". Maybe find some new places that you have not yet been to, something fun and upbeat. I don't know if you have tried it, but HDDR is 2 credits and that is anything but romantic.

Best of luck to you and have a wonderfully FUN vacation!

I personally feel that the best way to heal is to go through the tough stuff. I look back at past relationships and feel so stupid about things I did not do because I was "grieving." Also, think realistically. Who is to say you'll actually be able to find new reservations for a month or so from now?

skip cindy's castle for sure....esp bc of your proposal. Def go on the trip...it will be hard but how can you not be happy in the world?

I'd drop the double credit at Cindy's and go to the Yachtsmen's Steakhouse at the Yacht Club instead. It's not particularly romantic so appropriate for your company and it's darn good food. Sorry about your broken engagement. I admire your ability to continue on with the planned trip. Have fun.

I would be taking someone else! :confused3

If you two will be going together I would drop the romantic stuff and just make it a friendly vacation!

I'd skip CRT and the GF buffet. Go to California Grille, Jiko, or Yachtsman's Steakhouse.

So sorry you have to go through this.

I would definitely drop Cinderella's Royal Table. The food is not worth two credits. All of the signature restaurants in the resorts I have been to are good. I would probably also drop the buffet unless you want to see those characters. Do a more fun, upbeat one like Chef Mickey or Crystal Palace.

As far as two credit restaurants, Narcoosee's would still let you see the Grand Floridian. We love California Grill, but that one is probably full. I also loved Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge and Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Sorry you are going through this!

Definately still go, but get rid of the the Castle and GF ressie's. Maybe hit something in DTD like Planet Hollywood. Do something upbeat. I know with Free Dining going on it will be hard to mix up your ressie's but call and see what you can do. Maybe change your days that you guys had planned and make new ones with your best friend to include them into your "new trip". Try to make the best out of a really bad situation.

call and see if you can get anything different...people have been posting about the difficulty of getting anything. I'd say keep these reservations until you know if anything else is available! It will be totally different going with a friend...

I love your honesty and willingness to share. Here is a big hug:grouphug: I also think you should cancel both dinners. I think you should start a new tradition or think of some memories from the trips with your father and share those with your friend. What about something in Downtown Disney for a guys night out. You seem to like the kind of meals we do but, you don't seem to have any breakfast booked. Have you thought about that? We will be at POP on the 30th, I am sure if we see you you will be having a wonderful time:thumbsup2

I would definitely change the whole lot and choose different places to eat....
There are so many other different restaurants to go to that are so much better....
Narcoosees
California Grill
Tuta Italia
Go have fun....

Artist Point is another great Signature, great buffalo!

Another choice if you are having trouble finding an ADR for a Signature, is adda TS breakfast. For 1 TS, how about Raglan Road? Late dinner, some entertainment, hanging around DTD, could be a fun night!

Sorry things didn't work out for you two

Would definitely switch the romantic dinners. Lots of the signature restaurants still have availability - I know because I keep switching mine around :rotfl: check out the cancellations thread on the dining board if you are having trouble getting what you want. There are moms over there that would give up their eye teeth to get their DD's into see CRT and I am sure they would trade something with you.

Good luck and hope you have fun with your friend

Thanks and yes, perhaps the Castle wouldn't be the best plan. Hopefully the double credits haven't booked all up...but I can check.

For reference, she and I did eat at the Yaughtsman last year (my first double credit), so that one probably wouldn't be a good idea. As for the Hoop Dee Doo, we had actually booked it and rebooked the castle....she was a country girl, so that one's probably an odd one out as well.

I need a good double credit dinner (and to know the dress code) that two food lovin' guys would enjoy. Plus, a good single credit resort dinner for a later time...we're going to take a day at Universal and just wanted to drive straight to dinner that night, so a resort would be best.

What are your thoughts of:
Flying Fish Cafe
Jiko
Narcoosee's
Artist Point

Also, suggestions for a good late evening resort dinner...single credit.

Thanks guys...I'm a sharing person and want to have a fabulous trip.

I'm a spiteful person so if I were you- I'd still go to all of the planned restaurants- take lots of pictures and email them to her and say--- this could have been you! You so lost out!!! :snooty:

Seriously, sorry this happened- and I hope you have a magical trip!!!

Is the Hoop dee doo a double credit? It is very funny and you sound like you could use a laugh right now.

I'd steer clear of her for a while..I understand you see her at work, but there is no reaon for you to be friends right now. It is a little selfish on her part. Sure it might be easy for her but not for you if you still love her.

Maybe someday......far far away you can be friends. Still, I doubt it.

:grouphug:

Andrea

I'd go with Jiko - you should be able to get in. It's fantastic!!

Here's an extra **hug** - you deserve one (or several).
