Does anyone know of a site where you can buy good luggage at a discount on-line? I bought mine many years ago for about 1/3 of the retail price and it’s doing great. Now DH needs a new suitcase, and I can’t remember the name of the site I used. If it helps, the brand is Travelpro. Anyone have any ideas?

Probably several sites sell luggage online. I was looking at a few recently. Frankly, I like to see luggage in a store in person to see how well made it is and suitable for how I want to use it. In a store you can easily compare features of the various products which you can't do online.

I’m pretty sure you’re right. And the fact that they’re no longer around explains why I couldn’t find anything.
Samsonite bought out eBags, and Tumi! Check out Brad's Deals, it's an aggregator site that looks for deals on all sorts of stuff. And of course, there is always Amazon! Maybe with their Prime Deal days coming up, they may have some luggage. My sister tends to find decent luggage at either Marshall's or TJ Maxx.

I have found greatly reduced prices on well made luggage on returned items on Amazon. Had to keep checking, but I scored 3 Briggs & Riley carry ons and 1 Briggs & Riley expandable duffle that way.

Macys online has Travelpro on sale today, so does Nordstrom Rack. I just got a new piece at TJ Maxx last week, I prefer to be able to compare in person

I'm glad you mentioned Marshall's. That's where DS is planning to go. What's funny is that when I first posted the question, we were packing to come home from WDW, and DH was talking about how run down his suitcase was and needing a new one. Then, when we got to our home airport last night and got our luggage, apparently the airline broke one of his wheels and he could barely get the suitcase to the car. So Marshall's, here we come. And thanks for reminding me about Prime Days-that's a place to check too.

It might not be so great unless you absolutely know what you want because you've already seen it. I got a great set once at Costco, but it was actually the last demo out of box and they just gave me the price on the shelf tag. It wasn't absused though.

I rather like off-price stores like Marshall's, TJ Maxx, or Ross. Or similar. I've seen Travelpro at those stores, but obviously selection is whatever they have. But at the very least they're available to see what they're like in person. Some of the prices can be really good.

I even found Tumi pieces at TJ Maxx years ago. Still have those pieces.

You guys need to stop with all this luggage talk. Its like eating chocolate cake in front of someone who is trying to diet. I don't need any more bags. I don't need any more bags. I don't need any more bags.

But it doesn't match.

And, I have the 26 inch Caribbean Blue Hankie on my wish list even though I never check a bag

Glad I'm not the only one with a luggage "addiction"! 🤣

Just had to check in to thank whoever mentioned Amazon Prime Day Deals. DH bought a Samsonite on an Amazon early Prime Day Deal. And, of course, he gets free delivery tomorrow, even though he doesn't travel again until Hilton Head in a couple months.

It's been my experience that nothing beats quality from decades ago unfortunately. I have a luggage set from 2006 from Bob Mackie that has far outlasted anything I buy today with the wheels only just now giving out in the last couple of years.

That said with respects to TravelPro I did almost buy that earlier this year but noticed an uptick in complaints over quality. I was looking at the 2 wheeled version and many people reported issues with the standing legs being cheap. SwissPro was another brand that I saw cheapened out over the years with side by side comparisons from people.

The luggage we got for our spring cruise was American Tourister from Walmart actually and though I couldn't find a 2 wheeled checked luggage that wasn't $700 but was also high quality the 4 wheeled medium checked we got lasted at the moment. The carry on I've had and my husband has been using for several years traveling all over for work is a cheaper brand of Rockland from Amazon. The size dimensions are smaller but work better for international travel.

I'm also not fond of hard-sided luggage so I've stayed away from those.
