Need Nomad IIc MP3 help

DS (14) got an MP3 player from Grandmother for Christmas. I'm having problems with it...keep getting the message that it's not connected to PC when it is. Tried all the usual stuff, checked connections, rebooted, deleted and then reinstalled software, checked the manufacturer's site and tried searching through the online manual for help, but to no avail. Anybody out there with a similar experience?

Hi, my son and nephew both received Apple Ipods for xmas. What a job they were to install!

One computer totally crashed. My son finally got his hooked up and running and he loves it.

The other mp3 player we have is the creative labs jukebox which is my dh's. He had no problem hooking that one up.

I can't give you any help or tips, sorry.

Ok, finally figured out I have a faulty connection between cable coming from PC to MP3. Thanks for the reply. It's up and running and so cool!
