My DS (15) wants to have a meal with Mickey in April. I currently have ressies at Chef Mickey's for breakfast. I previously had dinner ressies there, but due to all of the negative reviews I'm really concerned. Suggestions please!!!! We have the Dining Plan but I do not mind paying OOP. I might be picky but I want a good meal and to please my son with Mickey.

** We are not going to the parks when our meal plan applies, so that makes it a little more challenging.

Thanks in advance!

None of the character buffets are really known for the greatest food. It's a standard buffet. If you want to eat with Mickey, I'd just book it and be done with it. We prefer breakfast over dinner - I find the food @ the breakfast buffets to be better and more to my family's liking.

I feel like a Garden Grill cheerleader on this board but I honestly think it's one of the best Character meals! You just see so much of the Characters and I personally love the "buffet at your table" food. Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale are there and you will see them 3 or 4 times during your meal since the restaurant is much smaller than most.

'Ohana breakfast is really good and has Mickey as well as Pluto, Lilo & Stitch... we do it every trip!!

We really like CM for breakfast. I think it worth experiencing and see for yourself. Reviews aside. Everyone has different tastes.

We also like Garden Grill for dinner and Cape May for breakfast.

Chef Mickey's for Breakfast would be fine. Breakfast is hard to mess up. Plus, Chef Mickey's is a classic. Although we ate there at lunch and we were not impressed with the food I am glad we did it. The only way we would go back would be for Breakfast. I think it is a fun place and like I said it's hard to mess up breakfast.

We've never had any unresolved issues with Chef Mickeys. We've only been there for breakfast. One time, we had a hard time getting Mickey and crew to stay at our table to have a picture. We were all ready, the kids jumped up, but Mickey and gang were in a hurry. A quick word with the CM helper and they all came back for plenty of photos. We were really nice about it, I truly think it was just an oversite. The food is fine for my family. We're not fancy people.... :)

We like CM for dinner, but we LOVE CM for breakfast!!! It is the only meal we have done every single one of our trips, and always will. We think it is great, a never miss for us. Food is great and pleantiful and the characters are great as well.

We ate at Chef Mickey's in October and thought it was a pretty good meal - it was pretty basic breakfast food, but it was all good and it was nice to see all of the characters. Out of all of our meals all week (including Le Cellier), DH said he wanted to go back to Chef Mickey's and O'hana.:thumbsup2

Thanks everyone!

I think I'll stop stressing over this and leave my ressie in place for breakfast @ CM.

We have never had a bad breakfast at Chef Mickey's. It's just classic buffet breakfast foods. My son loves Chef Mickey's. He loves seeing the fab 5 and he also likes waving his napkin around as they parade around the restaurant. I say go for it.

Our family absolutely loves loves loves loves CM's! I have never understood the bad reviews. :confused3 For us, it's a must-do on every trip - it's our last meal before we leave, and it is non-negotiable! :goodvibes There is a huge selection of breakfast foods - the Mickey waffles are the BEST! Pancakes, sausage, bacon, etc - just good old fashioned breakfast food.

Thank you for this! My son had a minor meltdown at The Crystal Palace in November. He thought that Pluto would be there (I thought he had known that it was Pooh and friends only). Then, Disney Dining Newbie that I am, I mistakenly thought that Pluto would be at ... BOMA. :rolleyes1

I promised him a meal that includes Pluto on our next trip.

I am one of the rare people that likes Chef Mickey's dinner, lol... and Garden Grill is also a great place to see Mickey

Oh they messed up breakfast big time when we were there! DH even commented that he'd hate to see what they do to dinner if they do that poorly with breakfast.

Anyway, our DS is a Mickey junkie and we plan to get his Mickey fix with breakfasts at Ohana and Tusker House. We haven't done Ohana yet but TH was great last trip.

Thinking of booking for our dec trip. Do they have characters @dinner?

Only skimmed answers but....

Tusker House at AK... It's Donald's breakfast and that is who the picture is with, but Mickey is a floater during the meal. We had no idea. It was a nice surprise.
