We are planning on spending next Christmas at Disney and would really like to stay at the WL. We have stayed here before and really love the resort. However, we have always stayed in a standard room. We will be traveling with family this time and will need a room that sleeps 6. We would like to stay in the same room if possible. Are these rooms big enough for 4 adults and 2 children? We don't spend a lot of time in the room, maybe just a few hours in the evening. Also, how did it work out sharing one bathroom? I would love to stay in a 2 bed. villa but that is out of our budget. We are also considering booking 2 separate rooms and hoping that they are close by. I appreciate any information you have.

Thanks!

There are two queen beds in the bedroom to sleep four, and there are doors that separate the bedroom from the rest of the unit, in case privacy is an issue. The other two people would be sleeping on the sofabed. Having the bedroom segregated gives the adults somewhere to go if the kids go to sleep early. Sharing one bathroom can be a challenge, but we found that having some showers the night before and then some in the morning made getting ready a lot easier. Plus, you'll have access to the concierge lounge, a benefit when there are that many people in the room wanting snacks and drinks.

Don't completely rule out a two bedroom villa, especially at SSR or OKW, at least until the rates come out. Also, have you considered renting points from an owner for at least part of the stay? If you could rent points for even half of your stay, that would reduce the cost considerably. And since Disney is changing their pricing policy, there's no way to know what the rates will be (at least for a few more days;) ).

Although the WL Deluxe room sleeps 6, that resort has smaller rooms than the other deluxe hotels. The Deluxe room is approximately 500 sq. ft, whereas the standard room at CR, Poly, or GF is around 400-450 and those rooms are supposed to accomodate 5.
IMHO, while the WL deluxe seems like a great deal, I would take in consideration the square footage and be aware that even with the extra seating area and the closing french doors, the room may be cramped. However, if you aren't spending much time there, it would probably be fine and the lobby/atmosphere of the WL would be worth the smaller room.

I agree with, fla4fun, don't rule out the villa until the rates come out, especially if you are considering two rooms. Two separate rooms at rack rate may not be that much less than a 2BR at WL.

Have you looked at pictures of the rooms? You can go to http://allears.net/acc/g_wl.htm

Thanks guys! I'll just have to wait until the rates come out and see what works best for us. I think we are most worried about sharing the bathroom so two rooms may be the better plan. We really want to stay at the lodge. I have stayed there before but it'll be a first time for my parents. Thanks again for your help!
