Help! I am going to Disney June 30th - July 5th and would like to take my 5 yr old daughter to a Character Breakfast. How do I book one? Any suggestions on which one to attend?

Thanks for the help!

Your DD would LOVE the princess breakfast at Cinderella's Castle, but be forewarned: Booking it is next to impossible. Call 407-WDW-DINE at 7am, 60 days in advance. My advice would be to try for the first day you are going to be in WDW and then, if you don't get it, you can call each day until you do. You can call them in advance to have them tell you the date you can start calling, or I know someone around here can direct you to a link that does the calculations for you. I have been shut out 4 days in a row, but have also been lucky enough to get it when I forgot to call until 9am. If you are unable to get it, cancellations do happen, so you can give them a call periodically to see if anything has opened up. I have gotten in twice two days in advance because of cancellations.

Aside from that, my DD's loved dinner at Chef Mickey's. It was a buffet with kid friendly food and a big dessert bar, and the characters go table to table for hugs and photos. That was a much easier ressie to get!

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hi Madangel32, welcome to the DIS. I'm really glad you found us.

I'm going to move this over to our restaurants board for you. Good luck planning your trip.

Katholyn

The Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom is a great one if you like Pooh and friends, we've done breakfast here for the last 2 years. It's great.

Hi,

You book it by calling 1-407-W-DISNEY. The breakfast at 1900 Park Fare located inside the GF is great. We have always found the food to be hot and fresh and the made to order omlet bar is outstanding.

She also might enjoy the character dinner at Chef Mickey's which is located inside of the CR.

These two character meals are must do's for us on every trip.

Hi, my vote is for 1900 park Fare at the Grand Floridian, A lovely, bright pastel colored victorian style setting with Great Characters( Winnie the Pooh and Friends, the Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins as well as Several Others) and the best Variety of breakfast food in WDW. Its a wonderful buffet where you can get your eggs made to order. pancakes, Mickey waffles, breakfast meats, muffins, fruits, oatmeals, cereals,The works. Next on my list would be The Crystal Palace, Winnie and Friends, and Again great food. Finally I would recomend Chef Mickeys at the Contemparary Resort. IMHO Kids love this Character Breakfast more than any other Because its Mickey and friends. Its not my favorite atmosphere with all the noise and the Monorail running over head but kids love it. Well that s my 2 1/2 cents:D
Have Fun!

It is very difficult to obtain a PS for Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast... and it does now require a deposit.

My Dd's favorites are:
1900 Park Faire Breakfast with Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, Pooh, and friends
Hollywood and Vine Character lunch at MGM with Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale and Pluto
Storybook Princess Breakfast at Epcot with some of the following:
Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine, Belle, Pocohontas, Mulan, Mary Poppins, or Alice in Wonderland.

Call (407) WDW-DINE to make your PS. You can get Storybook Princess Breakfast and 1900 Park Faire 120 days in advance. Hollywood and VIne is not usually difficult to obtain, but you can get it 60 days in advance, and you can start trying to get Cinderella's Royal Table 60 days in advance. You will have to start calling so your call goes in right at 7 am EST... because the PS are usually gone by 7:05.am.

I've not heard of that one before. Where is it held?

The Storybook Princess Breakfast is a Akersaus in the Noweigan Pavillion in Epcot. It started last July as a test, and then by September, it had done so well, they made it a permanent fixture. We ate there last August and thought it was really nice. The restauarant really looks like a Middle Age Castle inside, too. Also it has more seating, so it can accomodate more guests per morning than Cinderella's.

Thanks for the tip. I can't believe I didn't come across it on our trip in December, while on my quest to cram as much Disney excitement into three days as was physically possible!

Well this is certainly a start. I will have lots of info to look over in a short time. I want to make sure that my daughter has the time of her life!!!

Thanks to all for the tips!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

We did the Princess Story Book Breakfast on 18 Feb (daughter is 6)

"we arrive at the Akershus ready for brekkie with the Princesses. Quite a lot of trepidation on my part as I have heard some bad things about this. I have stated that the food was lousy but my daughter didnt seem to mind and to my mind this event was entirely for her. We were just bystanders. I wish I could have captured the look on her face when she first glimpsed Snow White coming towards her. Sheer unadulterated pleasure which rubbed off on us and brought a lump to my throat. She was in the land of storybooks and Princesses so who cares about dodgy food. Her excitement increased with the procession of Princesses (SW, Belle, Muhlan, Jasmine, Aurora and Mary Poppins) Caitlin had a problem with Mary Poppins being classed as a Princess but she was soon won over. Must be said that Dad was won over by Jasmine. Not only kids can dream....... erm lets move on.

Inc tip it cost us $53 (2 adults, 1 child) T

My dd6 loved the crt and you should definitely go if you're lucky enough to get ressies. I'm sure you think posters are exaggerating; my DH teased me a lot until the first morning he got shut out before 7am!!

Don' worry if you don't get it, though. We have also had really good breakfasts at Crystal Palace, and all of my kids love Donald's breakfast at AK.

I am one of the few people who didn't love CRT, go figure! My main problem was compared with the buffet style character breakfasts, the menus at CRT seemed so limited. If you happen to like what they offer then you're in luck, and there is very good character interaction as the princesses make it to every table in the place. We were early and got to meet Prince Charming downstairs. He even gave us a note to give to give to Cinderella.
I guesss I feel the Character experience was just as good at other the places I mentioned in my earlier post. The child we were with enjoyed the buffets as much if not more, it just didn't seem to be worth the hassel, I was expecting more.
Having said that, If your kids love the princesses, having breakfast in the castle with them can't be beat. It was clearly the highlight of the trip for many children who came in costume!

I can't figure out why I almost never see anyone mention one of the tastiest character breakfasts...'Ohana's! I actually got there accidentally. I couldn't get a PS at Chef Mickey's, and it was a crowded week (Feb. 17-26), so I was steered towards 'Ohana's, since my kids wanted Mickey. It was possibly the best breakfast I've had ever, let alone that week :) I'm limited, tho. 2 boys, neither of which want 1900 Park Faire, anything to do with "icky princesses", or Pooh...although *I* need my Eeyore, so they tolerate that one at dinnertime :) My sister-in-law swears by 1900 Park Faire, but she has 2 girls, and 2 (younger) boys. Characters there were Mickey, Goofy, Chip and Dale. Cute Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts, and they do a little parade with maracas with the kiddies. Food was phenomenal, in case I didn't say that enough!

I tried Donald's Breakfastosaurus this time, too. I think for interaction that one wins, hands down. It was very laid back, the servers are a riot, and not as crowded. Food was standard, tasty, nothing spectacular, but the characters were so much fun, it became a must-do. Plus....there's Donald and Pluto, what else do you need? ;)

I'm glad to hear someone give a thumbs up to 'Ohana. We've tried Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Cape May, and Breakfastsaurus, but next week we have a PS for our first try at the 'Ohana character breakfast. Whenever the "best character breakfast" question comes up, 'Ohana doesn't seem to get quite as many recommendations as some of the others, but I was motivated to try it in large part because of the method of service: family style. All of the others I listed (and most WDW character meals in general) are buffets. With three children (ages 3, 6, and 10), I find character buffets to be an incredibly chaotic experience. (Mom & Dad waiting in line to get the kids' food, waiting in line to get our own food, trying to do both of the above while not missing any photo ops as the characters drop by :) , ...)

I'm looking forward to a character meal where the food comes to me for a change. (I used to really like the pre-plated Pooh character breakfast at Olivia's for that reason...Unfortunately that one was discontinued during the post 9/11 cost-cutting.)

I'm looking forward to giving 'Ohana a try! :earsboy:
