Is it true that some of the 2-BR units (Particularly at BWV) have only 1 bed, and a sleeper sofa in the second bedroom? I thought they'd all have 1 king bed in one of the BRs and 2 beds in the other, not 1 bed and 1 sleep sofa. If you've stayed in a 2-BR, which DVC resort was it, and which way were the bedrooms set up? I'm most concerned about VWL, since that's where we own.

I know that BWV has only one bed in the "other bedroom." I think that OKW was the only resort with two beds in a studio. We have a 2 bedroom in VWL in Feb and I'm pretty sure they only have one bed also.

We stayed in a 2 BR at VWL in March 2001 and there were two queen size beds in the second bedroom. You need to ask for a dedicated 2BR when you make your ressie to get the two beds. Other 2BR's are lock-offs which are essentially a studio and a 1 BR put together via an adjoining door. BWV's has only lock-offs.

All of the OKW 2nd bedrooms (and studios) have 2 queen beds.

All of the BW 2nd bedrooms (and studios) have 1 queen and the sleep sofa.

At VWL and BCV, all of the dedicated 2BR's have two queens and all of the lock offs, have 1 queen and the sleep sofa.

HH has mostly dedicated 2BR villas and all have 2 queens. The studios (and thus lock offs) have 1 queen and the sleep sofa.

Enjoy!

So is a "dedicated" something you can guarantee at the time you make your ressie, or is it just a request, hope for the best, but not guaranteed.

I had this same question. If you request a "dedicated 2 bedroom", is it a guarantee you'll get it? If not, what has people's experience been like in getting what they request?

considering that most people want the lock off (those are the ones I have told are not available) than the dedicated - you shouldn't have a problem

(remember that the lock off are a studio and a 1-bedroom and can be rented as such - not a real 2-bedroom)

to my knowledge if you want a 2-bedroom dedicated there should be no problem. (I know with little ones, you really worry about their excess to an outside door)

We haven't gone "home" for our first time yet as DVC members (our first stay at VWL was on cash), the confirmation sheet that I received for our upcoming stay in July says: Vacation home type: two BR (dedicated). Below that it lists our requests--non smoking and top floor. I'll be glad to let you know if we get our dedicated room or not after we return. I'm sure someone else on these boards will know before I do though!

When I made my ressies for Thanksgiving last week at OKW I had to make two seperate ressies. One number is for the dedicated that they had every night except Thanksgiving and the other was for Thanksgiving night for a lock off and I am waitlisted for the dedicated. MS seemed surprised since the lock offs seem to go first.
