Paul, I wouldn't sweat the small stuff like room numbers, etc.

With a preferred villa, you have your best shot at expressing a preferred view (Boardwalk, Pool, etc ) at the time of your reservation. By the time that you check-in, your room will already be assigned. I'd say........GO WITH THE FLOW. You won't be disappointed ANYWHERE at BWV...........we've owned there for several years as well:D

Unless there have been some major policy changes, BWV will not accept a request for a specific villa number. This is almost impossible for any hotel type operation - to assign and reassign room numbers.

hi: we've had several different preferred view rooms, but were never able to get a boardwalk view (even at the 11th month mark). we've overlooked the luna park pool, the canal, and the quiet pool. we actually prefer the standard views due to the point savings. the most important thing for us is where the nearest stairs are located. it can be a big time saver to take the stairs rather than wait for the elevators. whatever the view, enjoy your trip!

We've had a BW view but really don't prefer it. We now ask for 3rd floor as our second request (non-smoking being our first). This allows us to use the stairways easier. Then we usually request a quiet pool view. Our last room met these requests and it was our favorite so far. I think that noting your requests at the time of making the reservation is the best way to go. If you request certain room numbers they will most likely not be able to meet the requets. And since they will have no idea why you request the rooms they will likely give you about anything.

We stayed in room 5001 over Easter. The view was beautiful and the room in great condition. However, it was very, very far from the elevators. The bellman told us it was 240-steps from the elevators!

I would request a boardwalk view. We have gotten a boardwalk view every time but last month and that was because of the refurbishment going on. We love the boardwalk view, it is so much fun to sit on the balcony and just take in the whole wonderful view and atmosphere. I also agree to request a certain room is not a good idea, that really narrows down things.
But any place you get at BWV will be great, it is a super resort in one of the best locations at WDW. It was the first "true deluxe WDW DVC resort". LOL! :D :D :D :D
